This was one of the earliest banks in Minnesota and it remains open today as a community bank with branches throughout Hennepin County. In 1920, Inver Grove Heights voters passed a resolution proclaiming November 20 as "Gun Day" in order to promote firearms ownership among their residents. However recent advances have seen increased growth with several new apartment buildings being built on Avenue Q just south of downtown since 2007 which has caused much attention from residents who feel that it would have been more beneficial if this development had occurred closer to their community center which houses library services and other cultural amenities
