Hopkins is a small town in the state of Minnesota. The population was 1,202 at the 2010 census. By 1860, Andrew had purchased land east of what is now Hopkinsville on Big Lake and built a homesite called "Lodge Hill". In 1862, he married Catharine Ladd and began naming their children after famous people or places in Minnesota: Harmon (1862-1943), Gertrude (1863-1937), Andrew (1865-1935),John W.(1867-1945), Florence H.(1869-1961)and Margaret C.(1900-1983). When crops failed during the Great Famine of 1894–96, many farmers turned to potatoes as their main crop; Lodge Hill became an important potato farm until it closed in 1986. Andrew's grandson John W., born 1865, became one of America's leading agricultural scientists during World War I when he developed new methods for growing corn on large plots using fertilizers and irrigation systems that would change American agriculture forever. After World War I ended, John worked for Monsanto Company developing new ways to grow crops that would be more efficient than ever before. In 1935, Hopkins graduate Margaret Carlson married George Mueller who ran a successful grocery store chain here until his death in 1983. George's widow continued running her store until she died in 2006; today it remains open as A & M Grocery Cooperative which has been operating since 1949。Hopkins also has two post office buildings—the original building erected 1951 by Andrew Hopkins himself and then expanded rapidly over time; and an updated building erected 1978 which serves as both local history museum/library annexe AND larger community center/hall which houses all sorts of events including meetings of city councils*, public hearings*&*)A wide variety of cultural events have been held here such as theater productions*, music festivals*, art exhibitions*&*) * City councils are used here generally meaning city governing bodies consisting mostly of elected officials who make decisions about issues facing their municipality

The house has been owned by the Zimmer family since 1951. John L. Rhodes House Museum The John L. Rhodes House Museum is located at 7755 Highway 169 in Ramsey. It contains the original building from the 1870s which has been renovated and restored as a museum containing artifacts from the community including artifacts from theHopkins rake wagon company, local farmers, oil wells drilled near Hopkins during the 1920s and 1930s, photos of residents from when they were small children to their adult years, and more dating back to before Ramsey's incorporation into Minnesota as a town on May 20, 1897
Hopkins was founded in 1857 by John Hopkins, a miner and civil servant. The town grew rapidly after the discovery of copper and other minerals in the area. By 1881, Hopkins had a population of over 900 people. The town was designated as a city in 1912 and became one of the largest cities in Minnesota.
