Ham Lake, Minnesota is located in the state of Minnesota and is part of the Dakota Access Pipeline. The pipeline was developed by Energy Transfer Partners, a subsidiary of TransCanada Corporation. The land necessary for the pipeline was acquired through eminent domain and has caused protests by indigenous people since it was announced in 2016. The protests have been ongoing since September 1st of 2017 when police were called to quell the protesters. There have been at least 26 arrests made and dozens of citations issued throughout 2017 and 2018. The ham lake community is located on the banks of the Ham Lake River which forms part of the border between North Dakota and South Dakota. It was named after Captain Edward Fenton, who served as first lieutenant with Company C, Second Regiment, Sixth Infantry in 1846-1848 during the American Civil War. In 1875, John Ladd became one of four men who purchased 640 acres from David Haig for $1 per acre after he had journeyed there from Illinois to purchase land for farming purposes. Ladd donated his land to the town of Ham Lake in 1886. The townspeople constructed a dam on Ham Lake in 1898 to control water levels so that they could irrigate their crops. The townspeople also built a post office and store in 1903 which still stands today within walking distance from all homes within ham lake village limits today! Ladd Park was established near Ham Lakeshore Drive (now Old Uptown Rd.) in 1935 as an open space ringed by homes on two sides, with asphalt Roadways running around it like spokes on a wheel; these Roads led into adjacent private areas where people walked or bicycled without having their vehicular traffic stop! This park still exists today but has been greatly reduced in size due to development nearby! In 1958 an agreement between communities along Highway 8 charmed "Lake Superior" created 6 miles long loop known as "Ham Lakeshore". A second agreement added another mile extending eastward across US Highway 16 (now Interstate 94) just north of Ham Lakeshore Boulevard; this Boundary Loop would eventually become known as "Ladd Rapids". Today's Terrace Heights subdivision lies at its eastern end just east of I-94/US 16 intersection! These lakeside neighborhoods continued forming until 1969 when construction began on what would become Twin Cities International Airport – making Ham Lakeshore essentially useless for residential use! With no practical uses for this vast tract now lying idle except as commercial landfill – much like other communities surrounding it – many residents chose to leave or be displaced during those years leading up to Twin Cities' opening… In 1995 fire destroyed most buildings within old Terminal B lot #2B atRNA airport property & community center complex creating large hole inside Community Center Complex remnant can still be seen immediately southwest corner facing runway road
