Golden Valley is a small town in the U.S. state of Minnesota, located about 15 miles east of downtown Minneapolis on State Highway 169. The population was 1,813 at the 2010 census. Golden Valley is part of the Twin Cities metropolitan area and is home to numerous cultural attractions, including the Golden Valley Museum and Park, the Golden Valley High School football team and basketball team, as well as a variety of restaurants and businesses. The town was founded in 1881 by Danish immigrants Ole Hansen (1848-1929), George Olsen (1860-1927) and Johnsen brothers (1864-1937). The first post office opened in 1882. The name comes from a valley that lay between two peaks in the township; it has been reported that Hansen himself coined the townsite's name "Golden" because he found gold coins near its banks while prospecting for ore on his farmstead. In 1886, Hanson donated land to create what would become the village center; construction began soon after and finished in 1888. By 1900, most of Golden Valley had been built out with farms stretching back several miles along Center Road. Today only a few scattered houses remain from when Golden Valley was an isolated rural community. In 1912, Rasmussen Bros., hardware store owners who operated out of their garage on First Street North, opened up one of America's first drive-in movie theaters; this structure remains standing today as part of the museum complex adjacent to GoldenValley High School which serves as both school stadium and community theater complex for local residents and visitors alike since it reopened in 1993 following renovations funded largely by private donations from individuals throughout Minnesota & beyond In 1978–79Hanson Libraries System erected two large redwood shared reading rooms inside GVHS which were eventually destroyed due to weather damage but are still extant as permanent exhibit spaces within GVHS library holdings In 1984–85Hanson Library System erected four large white wood bookshelves/cases around each side entrance plaza used for storage during renovation project which also included installation of new roof lines over existing building trusses

An improved version of this telescope system was created in 1903 by Maurice Duval which became known as Millettite spotting scope after its inventor, Sir Arthur Millett (1863-1937). Millettite spotting scope offered better magnification (up to ×50) than any other type of sniper rifle scope until it was superseded by later designs such as MILITARY SCOPE SYSTEMS III/4 (MAS III/4) developed by Umarex company in 1978 which offered variable magnification from ×25 up to ×400 using 3× power converters within MILITARY OPTICS GROUP INC., now OEKO Optics America Inc., under license from EOTech Corporation . The MILITARY SCOPE SYSTEMS III/4 has replaced most all other types of sniper rifle Scope systems worldwide
