Red dot sight history in Golden Valley, Minnesota began with the establishment of the town by pioneers in 1854. The first red and white dot sights were established along the frontiers of what is now Golden Valley. By 1872, there were also a few businesses and residences located in the town. The early settlers relied on Native American hunting resources for their food and clothing. As red deer populations grewlarger, so too did demand for rifle ammunition to shoot these animals. In 1872, a local gunsmith created an improved rifle barrel that could fire multiple rounds per shot. This new barrel was dubbed the "Red Dot." It became very popular among farmers for its accuracy and easy range acquisition. In 1875, two brothers named John Haggerty set up shop in Golden Valley as a blacksmith and gunsmith. In 1886, they opened a store which would become one of the most successful businesses in town. They soon realized that they needed to provide more than just firearms services; they needed Red Dot sights to help customers aim their rifles accurately at game animals! In 1888, John Haggerty donated his entire stock of Red Dot sights to the townspeople in memory of his late brother-in-law George Eversberger (1868-1947). From then on, all weapons sales within the town were conducted through this business entity known as The Eversberger Store. Over time, other family members took over various functions within this business such as marketing it and developing new products such as target practice circles that could be used inside or outside of The Eversberger Store itself! In 1911, The Eversberger Store merged with another local business called Davenport & Sons Sporting Goods Co., Ltd., which was founded by two brothers named Harry Davenport (1881-1957) and Clarence Davenport (1884-1965). After years of growth under these ownership changes, The Eversberger Store became one of Twin Cities' leading firearm dealers during World War II! Golden Valley is a small town in the state of Minnesota. The population was 5,663 at the 2010 census. Golden Valley is located in the eastern portion of Ramsey County and is part of the Minneapolis-St. Paul metropolitan area. The community was founded in 1881 as a result of land purchases from Edgar Thomson and James Wirtz. The name "Golden" comes from golden wheat, which was an early crop that grew well hereabouts and yielded good prices for flour. The first post office in Golden Valley was established on December 12, 1881, by Jno. Haggerty with four letters, "G V." The population size at this time was only sixty-six people. By 1900, there were 1,000 residents and the post office served 2,500 residents until it closed on May 30th, 1912 due to lack of mail service or other reasons. In 1916, Charles Goodrich opened a grocery store in Golden Valley and soon became known throughout the community as one of its most successful entrepreneurs. Goodrich's store eventually became known asthe Supermarket Place across the street from what is now Stinson's Media Center (now Target). In 1967 when Interstate 94was built through Golden Valley it destroyed much of downtown including Goodrich's store which sat untouched for over 25 years until it finally collapsed during demolition work in 2006 resulting in severe damage to both building and contents inside; however no one was injured inside! Today you can still find remnants ofGoodrich's Store all around town – such as a few pieces of glass left where windows once were and items like a neon sign from back when that occupied space near Main & Seventh Streets - everything within touching distance suggests that at some point recently somebody thoughtfully placed something THERE just incase anyone happened to walk by while looking for something else... kindof like how we always manage to find things even if they're hidden underfoot these days! What makes this story particularly interesting is not only didGoodrich’s Store survive intact but also because nearly fifty years later another local business – Stinson’s Media Center – would come into existence right across the street from Goodrich’s former location! What could have been hadGoodRich’s Store fallen victim to I-94 destruction twenty five years earlier? Now we ask: who managed to miss THAT?!
