It includes two lakes: Maple and Troutfish Lake. As of the census of 2000, there were 581 people, 210 households, and 151 families residing in the CDP. The population density was 2 people per square mile (1/km²). There were 269 housing units at an average density of 1 per square mile (0/km²). The racial makeup of the CDP was 97% White and 3% African American. Hispanic or Latinoof any race were 1% of the population. There were 210 households out of which 38% had children under age 18 living with them, 60% were married couples living together, 7% had a female householder with no husband present, and 24% were non-families. 20%of all households were made up of individuals and 8% had someone living alone who was 65 years old or older
