Forest Lake is a small town in eastern Minnesota, located on the banks of the Mississippi River. The population was 727 at the 2010 census. Forest Lake is part of the Minneapolis-St. Paul metropolitan area and is home to many businesses and organizations including: Forest Lake Community School, Warrior Arts Academy, Lakeshore Christian School, and United Methodist Church. The first settlers in what would become Forest Lake were Dutch farmers who arrived in 1654. By 1851, there were over 100 people living in Forest Lake. The first post office was established in 1868 and it remained open until 1951. At that time, it was moved to its present location on Highway 9 near Beattieville. In 1902, a sawmill was built at Forest Lake by Jens Lehmann & Sons Limited. It continued operation until 1984 when it went out of business due to economic problems associated with the oil embargo of 1973-1974. During World War II, Forrest Lake played an instrumental role as a port for goods being transported into and out of Nazi Germany via waterways such as the Missouri River and Duluth Bayou system. Many important military supplies were brought into or exported from Germany through Forrest Lake during World War II including gasoline and ammunition; torpedoes; aircraft parts; machine guns; fighter planes; warships etc., which helped contribute to America's victory over Nazi Germany during World War II. Today, ForestLake has diversified its economy with a number of businesses providing services such as real estate development (including two golf courses), health care (including one hospital), restaurants (including several national chains), truck stops/Gas Stations/motels/bars/laundries/ funeral homes/and more.. In 2016 alone, the town announced plans to build a new ($200 million) elementary school complete with an amphitheater and ice rink which will be joined by a new high school building completed in 2019 which will house both schools together making ForrestLake one big campus!

Forest Lake is a city in Ramsey County, Minnesota, United States. The population was 1,128 at the 2010 census. Forest Lake was founded in 1876 by John and Eliza Green. It became a city on December 12, 1959. The first settler in Forest Lake was John Green who moved to what is now Forest Lake from Bloomfield Hills on November 17, 1876. The town of Forest Lake was organized on January 25, 1877 by order of the Territorial Legislature under the name "Rosebud." The original site for ForestLake had been selected by Major General James Polk as the location for a new military post to be named Fort Snelling after his father-in-law General David Snelling and because of its strategic location between Minneapolis and St Paul. However President Andrew Johnson vetoed the proposal because he felt that there were no good sites available for military posts inMinnesota at that time. In spite of this vetoation, Fort Snelling was built at the current site in 1879 with 500 troops under command of Colonel George Armstrong Custer. 1st Infantry Regiment (1879-1885), 3rd Infantry Regiment (1885-1905), 5th Infantry Regiment (1905-1927) 2nd Infantry Brigade (1927-1945) 3rd Armor Division Headquarters and Service Battalion (1945-) Fort Snelling eventually fell into disrepair following World War II and it closed down in 1951 due to budget cuts within MILITARY MANAGEMENT Command's Western Pacific Area HQ which included all American Military Forces stationed in Japan; however later reopened as an airbase known as Hoshino Air Base after being sold to Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency(JAXA). On October 16th 1958 when ForrestLake became a city it donated its land across from Hoshino Airbase for use as an open space park with forested hills surrounding it which today makes up part of downtown ForrestLake During its history ForrestLake has seen many changes including becoming a commercial center during the early 1900s with several businesses such as Laundromat operated by Mrs Jane Addams until she moving away from town due to taxes levied against her business operation; becoming progressive during prohibition when several bars opened up serving liquor until 1933 when restrictions were put into place governing alcohol sales within cities limits; experiencing growth during World War II with companies like Sears & Roebuck opening up branches here until 1945 when they vacated the area due to bombing raids throughout Hiroshima/ Nagasaki so much so that one store even burned down! Finally since coming into city control over 30 years ago has seen modest growth but steady development with more apartments being developed here then any other municipality in Ramsey County!

In 1904, the United States Post Office moved from Red Wing to Forest Lake and changed its name to Maple Grove. In 1916, ForestLake incorporated as a village under the name of Maple Grove Village. In 1950, Maple Grove Village merged with Ramsey County and became part of ForestLake. According to the 2000 census, there were 1,827 people living in ForestLake when it was last measured in 2000 Census data; however according to recent census figures (as of 2018), this figure has grown slightly to 1,903 residents within its borders only
