The kit was simple to use and consisted of a small pot, detergent, and water. It was not until the early 1920s that a more complex kit was created by George W. Seitz called the Gun Cleaning Kit. This kit contained two parts- one for the user to hold and one for the gun to be cleaned in. The second part of thiskit contained a cloth, machine brush, bucket,and scrubber which were used together to clean guns. In 1933, another more advanced kitwas created by Ransom Ewell called the Gun Cleaning Kit II which had three parts- one for the user to hold whichcontained a sponge and several drops of dishwashing soap; one for the gunwhichcontained an oatmeal shaker; and one forthe cleaner-ammonium hydroxide which contained water and an ammonium hydroxide solution (seawater). These kits were much more complex than earlier kits but they still proved successful because they allowed users to clean guns quickly and effectively without having to use buckets or machines

He designed and manufactured these kits on his kitchen table, and they were quite successful. In the late 1930s, A.J.'s son, Al J. Hafer II, took over production of the Forest Lake Gun Cleaning Kits and continued to make them until his death in 1984. His son Al Jr., continued to manufacture these kits until 1997 when he sold the company to a group of gentlemen who continue to make and sell these kits today.
Forest Lake is a small town in the U.S. state of Minnesota. The population was 2,721 at the 2010 census. Forest Lake is part of the Saint Paul-Mankato metropolitan area. The first European to visit Forest Lake was Captain John Hudsons Expedition in 1809, who named itafter his friend and fellow explorer, Dr. Daniel McGrew.' In 1870, American lumber baron David Ladd decided to build a dam on Stillwater River near present day Forest Lake in order to create more water for his sawmills and other businesses in StPaul. The dam created one of the most important natural resources assets of Minnesota - Class II wild rice that can be found all around the lake region today (although some fields have been abandoned). Forest Lake residents were among those who fought in World War I against Germany and Austria-Hungary as part of United States military forces; many served from 1917 until 1918 during both World Wars. Many residents also Lost relatives during these wars including Commandant George Wirtz (1920-1924) who lost his father and brother in action; Lieutenant Colonel Clarence Vail (1925-1929); First Sergeant Floyd Hildebrandt (1930-1945), Fourth Sergeant Harold Klingenberg (1946-1964) and Second Lieutenant Dean Sorgenkampf (1965-1968). In 1969, when Junction City sold itsinterestintheLake Region to MinnPost for $1 million, ForestLake homeowners won a right to use their street names withinMinneapolis without ever having seen their homes or streets since they were acquired by MinnPost back in 1870! Today , over 130 years after our original building began operations here at what became known as "ForestLodge", many families maintain homeandproperty rights within this unique community while living close enoughtoone another so that everyone knows their name & faces!

In addition to its namesake lake, ForestLake has five other namedreek: Maplewood (1901), Cottonwood (1905), Hickory (1911), Cedar Rapids (1920), and Apple Valley (1927). Today, ForestLake is a vibrant community with many cultural attractions including an annual arts festival, outdoor concerts throughout the year, and several restaurants and stores.
The Forest Lake area was first settled by the Menominee Indians in the 17th century. The fur traders and missionaries who arrived in the 18th century brought with them their new crops of wheat, maize, and other vegetables. Over time, the area became known for its timber, especially oak and maple trees. In 1881, the Minnesota Legislature designated Forest Lake as a township in Dakota Territory. It was not until 1915 when a post office was established at Forest Lake. In that year, construction began on what is now the town of Forest Lakes. The town sprang up around a lumberyard and sawmill that were built close to the forested shores of the lake. The community developed rapidly due to its location and access to resources such as water and power. By 1920, there were over 100 residents living in Forest Lakes while also having a school, library, fire station, hospital, grocery store, chapel (later Lutheran), church (later Methodist),and several businesses including a bakery and an electrician/cable TV installer
