The holster industry was founded in 1911 by two men, George Weiser and Harry Elmer Berger.
Farmington is a city in the U.S. state of Minnesota and the county seat of Morrison County. The population was 24,872 as of the 2010 census. It is part of the Minneapolis-St Paul metropolitan area. The first settlers in Farmington were Pierre Chouteau, his brother Antoine Chouteau, and their families who arrived in 1781 from Quebec; they named their new settlement after Baron Friedrich von Humboldt's estate on the upper Mississippi River where they had been living for some time before that. By 1800, there were over 100 people living in Farmington. In 1825, John Auld settled near what is now central Farmington and began to grow corn and potatoes for local consumption; he also built a grist mill which still stands today on Main Street. In 1854, Andrew Hecker bought land east of downtown from Jesse Wohlmuth for $1,000; he erected a small frame house on what is now northwest corner of Fourth Avenue and Seventh Street. He started growing wheat and other crops with help from his friends until 1865 when he became head farmer at his farmstead on First Avenue south of town; by 1876 he had developed an acreage which included land around present day Third Street and Eighteenth Avenue NE. In 1883, farming operations were combined with those at nearby Hastings to form the new company farm main office/grainshed operation called "New Fields" (now known as Monsanto). This new enterprise grew rapidly due to increased demand for hay, straw, flour and other agricultural products brought about by technological advancements such as canning methods which made it possible to package these products more cheaply than ever before In 1902–3 Mayor John Fenton acquired 4 acres adjacent to First Avenue north of town for use as a public park (the current site of Central Park). The park was dedicated on July 9th 1903 by Governor James Murchison during a celebration attended by dignitaries including President Grover Cleveland Hecker sold most or all his holdings within 2 years following his death in 1905 but continued to contribute sums towards expanding the park through donations both large and small up until his death in 1916 aged 80 years old The last privately owned farm left operation in Farmington was that run by Mrs Crampton beginning productionof alfalfa hay at her home southeast corner Third Street north of town beginning October 3rd 1956
Farmington was founded in 1855 by John and Anna Nourse. The town grew quickly, and by 1870 it had a population of about 150 people. In 1887, the city of Farmington merged with the neighboring towns of Hitchcock and Nicollet to form a new municipality. The merger created a need for more schools, so in 1890 the legislature passed an act creating the present-day Farmington School District. The district's first school was built on State Street in 1886.
