farmington, mn is a city in central Minnesota, United States. The population was 21,827 at the 2010 census. It is the county seat of Hennepin County. The historic downtown district is home to the Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport and the University of Minnesota Twin Cities campus. The first gun mags in Farmington were probably started by James Fenton who had a store on Third Street in 1878. He may also have been the first dealer in firearms in that area. In 1905, John Ladd opened his own gun store on Second Street and continued to sell guns until 1951 when he closed his business due to lack of customers or competition from other dealers. However, Ladd's shop continues as one of Farmington's most important landmarks today. In 1924, Percy Crosby opened his own gun store on Fourth Avenue and it continued to be open until 1978 when it was closed because of financial difficulties. However, Crosby's shop still remains as an important part of town history today with its collection of firearms and memorabilia dating back to before World War II! In 1949, Harry Weiser set up agun showcase at his house on Seventh Avenue which became known as "The Weiser House Gun Show". This event helped promote firearm safety education for children and adults alike and made sure that everyone could enjoy Firearms rights without being afraid or ashamed! Ida Sauer started selling ammunition magazine subscriptions in 1916 out her home on Prospect Street which she continued until her death in 1986.(Sauer Museum) After Ida Sauer's death, her son Julius decided to continue the subscription program even though he had no experience with sales or marketing.(Julius Sauer Museum) After Julius Sauer's death too., his widow Adele took over running the magazine operations until her death in 1989.(Adele Sauer Museum) Finally after many years of operation by several different individuals:, farmington’s oldest surviving gun store finally closes its doors after serving its community for more than 100 years!(Farmington Historical Society

The first settler in Farmington was John Sempler and his family who came to what is now Farmington in 1846. Farming has been a majorstay of the community since its founding. Today, many residents are directly impacted by agriculture including farmers, ranchers, processors and retailers. Farming has been a significant part of life for residents in Farmington for over 100 years. In 1860 Isaac Morse started farming on land that he had purchased from the government and donated to the township. He continued to operate a farm until his death in 1918. Other early landowners included George Custer and his brother-in-law David Fowler who also endowed land in Farmington Township as well as Hugh Wohlgemuth who donated some acres to be used for agricultural purposes in 1896. Many of today's commercial farms were founded during World War II when demand for food increased following the Allied victory over Nazi Germany. One such farm was operated by Mrs. Harry Dahlstrom whose husband Harry ran an ice cream business near downtown Minneapolis while he served in serve with General Patton’s Third Army during World War II. After 1945, farming became increasingly mechanized with large farms being bought and converted into factories devoted to corn (maize), soybeans (soy milk), wheat (grain) processing and other productsexport items like gasoline and paint products from Local 711 Trucking Company located just north of downtown Farmington on Highway 10A/Mile Marker 12

The town name comes from farm meaning “farmstead” and ton (town) meaning “place where people lived and held meetings.” The first settlers were farmers who came overland from Norway in 1853. They built log cabins and started raising livestock on their farms. By 1870, the town had a school, store, post office and two churches. In 1881, Farmington became a city with its own government and fire department; however, it reverted to its rural roots until 1959 when it became an incorporated village again under the name of Farmington Heights. During World War II, Farmsington made significant contributions to the war effort by manufacturing munitions and other items for military use. Today many of those artifacts are housed at the Minnesota State Historical Society in St Paul. Many residents also have strong ties to agriculture which continues to play an important role in local life today both through subsistence farming practices as well as large production farms that produce crops such as corn, soybeans and wheat for food consumption or export markets overseas
