After Reverend Woolridge's death, Revivals began taking place throughout the community and within three years, all churches were conversions to Christianity due to their missionaries' efforts! In 1865, Rev John Reid arrived from Scotland with plans to start a school system hereabouts but soon realized that he would need more help than he could provide! Consequently, Reid set up shop across the street from First Presbyterian Church with help from local farmers who supplied him with land for his school project! Eventually, Reid's School became one of the most successful educational institutions ever established anywhere! As mentioned earlier, one of the earliest scopes utilized in Fairmont were reticles marketed by Nicholas-Jacques Conte back in 1751 which focused on small objects at high magnification using its eyepiece alone!
