The size of the town gradually increased as people came to work on farms or business ventures in its vicinity; until it reached its current size about two-thirds of all residents lived within one mile (1 km) of either school or business district boundary. In 1916 three miles (4 km) east of center became "Eden Park" after donation from Horton Nursery owner Isaac Newton Eaton II., which included land across Cedar Avenue from his nursery to provide open space for children to play while he watched them grow up; this opened up much later into present day Eden Prairie Boulevard between Cedar Avenue and North Seventh Street). Today there are over 300 businesses located within one mile (1 km) of downtown core boundaries; some 2/3ths of these are new since 2000! The downtown core contains many shops, restaurants, bars/nightlife venues and a variety cultural attractions such as art galleries and museums along Elmwood Avenue NE between Third Street NW and Sixth Street NW - making it an excellent place for pedestrians or bike riders to spend time exploring both indoors and outdoors! There are also several parks available including Maple Grove Park just off I-94N just northwest of downtown core boundaries which offers easy access to various activities like hiking trails that run throughout most days during high season - perfect for families! Finally don't forget about Coyote Hills Golf Course - one half mile northwest corner off I-94W just outside city limits offers a great view overlooking Lake Superior while still being able to enjoy some challenging holes!
