Eagan, Minnesota is a small town in the US state of Minnesota. The population was 7,955 at the 2010 census. It is located on the border of Ramsey County and Douglas County. The town was founded in 1854 by farmers from Iowa. Eagan has a humid subtropical climate with hot, humid summers and mild to cool winters. The average temperature in January is 27 °C (80 °F), while the average temperature in July is 43 °C (109 °F). According to the Köppen Climate Classification system, Eagan has a warm-summer Mediterranean climate.

Eagan is a small town in central Minnesota, located on the east bank of the St. Croix River. The population was 5,519 at the 2010 census. The first settlers in what is now Eagan were Norwegian immigrants who arrived there in 1858. They founded a farm and log cabin called "Fjordside". The post office was established in 1869, and the community began to grow rapidly because of its location near Minneapolis. In 1890, it had a population of 1,500 people and became part of the city of Minneapolis. In 1925, Eagan became one of two townships within the new Big Five Cities region (the others being Plymouth) when it was annexed by Minneapolis. Because it formed part of Minneapolis' west side, it experienced some rapid growth during the postwar years as many manufacturing jobs moved to Minnesotan cities like St Paul and Mankato due to policies enacted by Mayor John Hennigan that encouraged job growth statewide. However, after World War II ended and employment opportunities diminished for Minnesotans outside of downtown Minneapolis, Eagan's economy slowly declined until It reached its current low point in the late 1990s with only 678 residents living in its single township-wide village form of government. However, since 2000 things have begun to change as efforts are made to revive local businesses and increase tourism throughout Eagan which has led to an overall resurgence in its economy with over 2 dozen businesses currently operating within its boundaries including several banks/finance companies along with more than 60 residential properties available for purchase or rent inside its borders alone!
Eagan is a town in Minnesota, United States. The population was 9,471 at the 2010 census. It is part of the City of Minneapolis-St. Paul and is located on the Iron Range south of the city limits. The first settlement in what is now Eagan was called "New Town," which was organized on July 22, 1868, by settlers from North Dakota and Iowa who came to purchase land east of Hennepin County Line. A post office was established at New Town on October 3, 1868, and remained in operation until it was discontinued on March 14, 1880. On November 5, 1872, local farmers James Peebles and Brigham Tilton donated 1 million acres (49 km²) of present-day Eagan Township to the state of Minnesota for use as a public parkland. The donation included most of what is now East Side Road and much of what is now Interstate 94 between Snelling Avenue and Montrose Avenue. In addition to this gift from Peebles and Tilton, $5 per acre ($100 per hectare) in state taxes were levied against properties within the new township for 30 years after its creation. In 1895–96 Governor Amos Alonzo Stager designated portions of present-day Maplewood Township as part of Eagan Township; these areas include most of what are now South Side Road and Interstate 394 between Maplewood Avenue and Harlem Boulevard. On August 29th 1897 – just three months after becoming governor – Stager also designated portions less than two miles (3 km) east from where he lived near Glencoe as part of Eagan Township; this area includes much that lies today within Bloomington neighborhoods such as Eden Prairie or West Bloomington Minnesota's first electric streetcar line service began service inside the newly created townshipNovember 25th 1899 with route number 1A serving Randolph Street Station over an 8 mile (13 km) stretch from downtown Minneapolis to north side Thornton Heights before terminating at Crystal Lake station just outside downtownEagan residents may have helped contribute to early development around their community when they erected small sod buildings used for agricultural purposes immediately adjacent to several large barns then being constructed near Center Pointe Mall during late 1800s
