Additionally, Cloquet is home to two main churches – St. Peters Catholic Church located on North First Street (founded in 1886) and Lutheran Church on South First Street (established in 1865). There are also several smaller denominations represented within the community - Pentecostal church on West Seventh Avenue (founded 1964), Jehovah's Witnesses church on North First Street (founded 1914), Methodist Episcopal Church (established 1906), PresbyterianChurch on East Third Street (opened 1909), BaptistChurch(established 1913), Roman Catholic Parish #2 on Elmwood Avenue (established 1966).

The arrival of automobiles changed much about life in Cloquet during the early 20th century: instead of hiring people to do things like build fences or drive wagons around thecommunity, farmers began using tractors to cultivate their land themselves and then bought gasoline engines from local mechanics to run their machines. This new way of life produced many jobs for locals; however, there were also some drawbacks: because tractors could not be used for walking around or going door-to-door like horses or mules did, people often needed help getting around if they wanted to do things like shopping or go fishing; furthermore, many farmers found it difficult to keep up with new technological advances such as refrigeration so products became less affordable over time. In 1949, Claxton Township erected a sign that read "Cloquet—A Place Where You Can Fulfill Your Dreams".
