Scope mounts have been around for over a hundred years, dating back to when rifles were designed with sighting equipment in mind. Today, scope mounts are used by shooters all over the world for both personal and commercial use. Scope mounts come in different shapes and sizes, making them the perfect choice for any rifle. In Chaska, Minnesota, we have a rich history of scope mount usage dating back to the early 1900s. For many years, our local gunsmiths had a steady trade in scopes and associated parts. Today, we continue to carry traditional scopes and parts from that era, ensuring that you can enjoy your hunting or shooting experiences to the fullest extent possible!

Scope mounts are a necessary part of any rifle, shotgun, or handgun. They allow the user to easily place an objective onto the weapon and magnify it for shooting. Scope mounts come in a variety of shapes and sizes, so it's important to find one that is suited to your firearm. Some common types of scope mounts include baseplates, rings, turrets, and bipods. When purchasing a scope mount, make sure to consider the following factors: -The type of mounting system you want - A dovetail mount will allow you to tighten the mount using screws while maintaining fit and accuracy; however, this can be difficult if you don't have hand tools. A belt drive will require you to remove your belt and install the adaptor before attaching the scope to the gun; this is more complicated but provides stability as well as better accuracy when shooting offhand. -The width of your barrel - The narrower your barrel is (i.e., smaller calibers), the wider your mount must be in order for it to fit properly on top of it. For shotguns with barrels over 18 inches in diameter, a 1in4" spacing may be too tight for some mounting systems while a 1in25" spacing would work well for others. Be sure to measure your bore before purchase so that you can choose an appropriate mounting system that fits specifically on your firearm! -The height of your barrel - If you're mounting an optics platform such as a spotting scope or binoculars at eye level above ground level then they'll need less space than if they're mounted below eye level (like on rifles). However, keep in mind that height doesn't always correlate with Bore Width because there are different barrels out there!). Additionally, some firearms have elevated stocks which require additional space around them in order for their optic platforms (e.g., AR15/M4 stocks)
