He designed this type of mounting because he believed that precision shooting was important in war.4 The Keil mount allowed shooters to change magnification levels without having to remove their rifles from the battlefield.5 Another early type of scopemount called an 'Andreassen' was developed by Johann Andreassen in 1792. This type of mount allowed shooters to adjust magnification levels while they were still on the battlefield.6 However, this type of scopemount wasn't as popular as later models because it required more time and effort to get good results.7

At first they built their homes on high ground above Second Street between Park Avenue South and Nicollet Ave., but when they realized that this would be too expensive to maintain, they leased land on lower Eighth Street between University Avenue South and Nicollet Ave. In 1870 brothers Isaac Newkirk (1825-1907) and Morris Newkirk (1829-1905), pioneers of Brooklyn Center founded their own lumber company on Park Avenue South near Third Street which became the largest employer in Brooklyn Center until ceded its rights to Jenssen Lumber Company in 1916). They also started a grocery store on Euclid Avenue near Northeast Fourth Street which continued to serve local customers into the 21st century. In 1876 John Addison Smith's Store No 1 opened at 6th & Cedar Streets NW which became one of Brooklyn Center's earliest businesses; it closed in 1963 but was replaced by Birch & Beechmans department store at Sixth & Cedar Streets NW . In 1880 Gessner Bros Hardware opened at 10th & Lyndale Avenues NE ; it closed in 1987 but was replaced by Target across Lyndale from Gessner Bros hardware . In 1902 Lewis Ewing established his clothing store at Fifth & Elm Streets NE ; it closed in 1984 but was preserved as part of Brookline Shopping Mall . In 1912 Mina Sayers started her own bakery; she later moved her bakery to Seventh & Delaware streets NW where it continues to operate today . On November 15, 1920 Stonington's American Legion Post #5 meeting place changed its name from Veterans Memorial Hall to Brooklyn Center Methodist Episcopal Church after being purchased by Reverend Hapgood Witherspoon who had been pastor there since 1915 . Reverend Witherspoon served as interim Pastor until 1924 when he succeeded John Fenton who had been serving since 1911 On February 2nd 1925 Dr Frederick Auerbach announced plans for a new park located near Seventh or Trinity avenues north west of downtown Minneapolis; this would become home to BMN Field Stadiums football games starting with game against Iowa State 20 October 1925 The park proposal met resistance from many residents because it Would have increased development adjacent To their homes while reducing available public space After much discussion neighborhood residents agreed to donate over 50 acres east of 7th avenue northwest of downtown Minneapolis for use as a new park however only 8 acres were actually donated due largely due political opposition by some landowners opposed any increase competition within their Neighborhoods
