As handguns became more concealed and powerful (due to advances in gunsmithing), designers began to develop holsters that could be attached around handguns's barrels in order to protect them from being drawn too closely into view. There were two main types of holster designs at this time: open-loop type holsters and closed-loop type holsters. Open-loop type Holster Designs Early open-loop type holster designs featured straps running along either side of the handgun's barrel which allowed it to be pulled securely across your body while you held it by its strap(s). These types ofholsters were typically used by law enforcement officers because they offered a degree of security against someone taking your weapon without your knowledge or permission. closed-Loop Type Holster Designs Closed-loop type holster designs became increasingly popular after World War II when people beganto feel more comfortable with carrying handguns openly instead of having them tucked away inside their coats or pantsuits. Bemidji is a small city in the U.S. state of Minnesota, located on the Mississippi River. The population was 362 at the 2010 census, down from 479 in 2000. Bemidji is bordered by Hastings to the north, Rochester to the east and south, and Alexandria to the west. It is part of Saint Paul metropolitan area. The first permanent settler in what would become Bemidji was Nicholas Kamm in 1854. A post office called Hennepin County was established here in 1858, and remained until it was discontinued in 1906. The town site was bought by John Prentice in 1872 and named for him as an honor for his donation of land for a school district hereabouts. In 1893, Prentice donated another parcel of land that became downtown Bemidji today; this parcel has been occupied continuously since then by various businesses and residential buildings including one now known as "Prentice Tower." In 1900, when Minneapolis-St Paul annexed Bemidji into its city limits, it reorganized its government under a new system known as " taxing districts." This change made it possible for small villages like Bemidji to have their own governing entities which were responsible for local defense and social services such as schools and fire departments. These districts continued until 1935 when they were disbanded under Mayor Jens Jensen's plan which merged all municipalities within St Paul into one entity with more centralized governance (the present day City Council). During World War II, many residents left their homes behind to join military service or work on munitions plants across the Midwest; however most returned home after hostilities ended. By 1948, only about 20 percent of the population still lived there permanently (down from 60 percent during 1920). However some local businesses did not follow suit until after being given tax breaks courtesy of then-Govt Finance Minister Albert Henry Muskie; these businesses included H&R Block & Co., General Mills (& later Monsanto), JCPenney & Co., Twin Cities Brewing Company (later taproom conversion restaurant chain), Wadena Creamery (now Marshalls) among others In 1957-1958 construction began on what would become Pioneer Park—one of several projects funded by Muskie’s New Deal programs following Franklin D Roosevelt’s election as President that aimed to improve living conditions across America’s rural communities (). The park includes a reflecting pool、a playground\/golf course\/tennis court\/sports arena\/bandstand/​rifle range etc.—and also served as a training ground for American troops during World War II In 1966–1967 demolition began on what serving originally functioned as Nordstrom Department Store building located at 5th Avenue South between Tower Street and White Street; this building housing prior Nordstrom stores opened up along 3rd Street North between Tower Street and University Avenue had been vacant since 1963 Downtown business owners/managers such as Harry Seibert purchased property adjacent First National Bank Building at Main Street Northeast between 2nd Avenue Northand Third AvenueNorth early 1970's for use as their future downtown development project plans changed multiple times due mainly because MnTwp desired mixed use development with primarily single family residences instead while bank officials wanted traditional banking services available . Eventually plans called for demolition or renovation but nothing ever happened due largely to lack of interest from both parties until 9/11 terrorist attack made everything go back on track . Plans call for redevelopment but again no action has taken place so far
