Apple Valley is a town in Douglas County, Minnesota, United States. The population was 3,912 at the 2010 census. The name of the town comes from the apple orchard that is located in the town. Apple Valley is part of the Minneapolis-St. Paul metropolitan area. The first settler in what would become Apple Valley was Isaac McKay who arrived around 1856. He and his family were farmers and built a cabin on a hill outside of town in 1857. The community grew rapidly after they opened up their land to settlers with some coming from as far away as Illinois and Iowa. In 1871, they bought an entire township from Alexander機mikoski which had been donated by him and his wife Catharine (Nelson) McKay. They named it Apple Valley after their home state of New York City where they had spent time before coming to Minnesota. In 1904, Apple Valley became an incorporated city when its own post office was established there by act of Congress under US Federal Tom Peebles Act No.: 592 (3 May 1904). At the time, cities were limited to a population of 10,000 residents and could only be established if approved by county commissioners voteiing unanimously upon application submitted by Mayor Waddell Dickey; however because this limit was being exceeded rapidly by towns like Plymouth and Maplewood which had much larger populations (25+,000+), incorporation wasn’t seen as ideal but allowed for rapid growth rate without any negative consequences such as loss of status or authority over annexed lands etc.). Apple Valley continued to grow rapidly until World War II when many people left for military service or chose not to live within commuting distance due to rationing restrictions placed on civilians during those times period; however even though there weren’t any hostilities taking place within our borders we all knew that war was going on just beyond our doorstep! After the war ended things calmed down a bit but never really came back to normal until recently with young millennials making their way into this small town once again looking for work opportunities and/or school opportunities while still keeping close ties with friends and family here… how great is that eh?!? Anyway enough about me rantin’ on about my favorite small town here in Minnesota – onto your paper! Government & Politics: As mentioned earlier Apple Valley has been incorporated since 1904 so government has always been there whether it be local or federal level through various laws passed through congress OR county commissioners voting unanimously upon applications submitted by Mayor Waddell Dickey who also happens to be the mayor today! This gave rise to another reason why incorporation has always been popular among citizens here – no one ever feels uncomfortable about speaking out against either local or federal lawmakers since doing so doesn’t mean you will get yelled at 🙂 Additionally, Mayor Dickey is always very responsive & willing TO help out citizens regardless of whatever issue may have come up during his term which I think speaks well for him (& other elected officials hereabouts)! Although I can understand some people feeling frustrated with how politics are conducted currently within our municipality it seems like overall things are moving forward pretty smoothly considering all that has happened over these years 😉 As you can see government isn’t just something that exists behind closed doors – it also plays an important role in everyday life! Finally speaking about politics – although I find myself generally happy with how things are run right now (thankfully) there are always boundless potential changes happening both locally & nationally which means everyone should take care NOT TO forget what makes us unique & special here 😉 If anything negative happens anywhere within our municipality please feel free TO let me know ASAP so that I can do my best to address it!

Apple Valley is a town in Ramsey County, Minnesota, United States. The population was 1,412 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Minneapolis–St. Paul metropolitan area. The community was founded in 1881 by farmers from Appleton and Wabasha counties who had moved to the area after they lost their land to railroads. The first post office in Apple Valley was established in 1887. In 1903, the community incorporated as a village under the name of Maple Grove. In 1916, Apple Valley became an independent city when it annexed parts of neighboring Robbinsdale. As an independent city, Apple Valley served as the county seat for Ramsey County until 1977 when that function was transferred to Stroudsburg, Pennsylvania.[1] In 2000, Apple Valley voters approved a $5 million bond issue to help improve schools and roads within its borders. The money has been used to build new elementary schools (Fenton-Edina School District), high school (Apple Valley High School),[2][3] and adult township hall (Township Hall Annex).[4] Construction began on these projects in late 2009 and early 2010 and is scheduled to be completed by fall 2013.[5][6]
