Andover, Minnesota is a small town in the State of Minnesota, located about 26 miles northeast of Minneapolis. The population was 1,711 at the 2010 census. It lies within the city limits of Minneapolis and is part of the Minneapolis-St. Paul metropolitan area. The village began as a log settlement on the east side of Andover Lake in 1854, by John A. Andes and his brother Jacob. They named their settlement after one of their father's plantations in Jamaica., four miles to the south-west (and just across Andover Creek). In 1865, George W. Stephenson purchased land east of Andover from John A. Andes for $2 per acre (equivalent to $104 today). Stephenson laid out a streetscape that retains some elements from early pioneer times - an alley between two houses runs down one edge of each street, with a ditch running along its length; two large logs were used as markers near downtown; and several historical buildings are still standing today: One is the Pioneer Hotel which was built in 1872 by Andrew Johnson and his wife Julia Prentice Johnson for themselves and their male guests; it has been converted into office space; another is Lakeside Manor which was built by Isaac Perkins in 1860 as a summer home for wealthy farmers/businessmen from nearby Duluth; it has been turned into apartments; and lastly, Northfield House which was built by Drury Lane Iron Works owner Nathanial Hildebrandt around 1915 as an exclusive drinking club for officers and men in the U S Army during World War I Butterfly trout have been found on both sides Of Andover Creek where there once were no fish hatchery operations or fishing ponds – providing additional evidence that this area may have been used more than once during different periods in history Andovers original post office opened on May 14th 1857 under mailing name "Cascade." However because Cascade had already closed down two months earlier there wasn't enough business to keep it open so they changed to "Andover" on October 25th 1857 The first settler in what would become known as Andover County was James Mather who moved here from Canada with his family circa 1798 Mather farmed until he sold land west of present day Hastings Avenue on August 17th 1830 . We now know Mather had bought 2 acres west OF current day Maple Street & 4 acres east OFcurrent day Anoka Road & started building house #1A about 1800 walnut trees growing & 3 cows grazing

Andover, Minnesota is a small town in the U.S. state of Minnesota, located in Andover Township on the west side of the Mississippi River. The population was 1,819 at the 2010 census. Andover was founded in 1854 by Nicholas Andourer and his wife Eliza Cowles Andourer as a small farming community on high ground near modern-day Stroudsburg, Pennsylvania. It grew rapidly due to its position along the river and access to timber resources for sawmills and other mills. In 1875, Andover became an incorporated village with a police department and school system. The mill town eventually declined due to competition from larger towns along the river and lack of new resources; however, it retains a strong local identity today as a retail center with several grocery stores, two banks (one municipal), an ice cream parlor, and several architecture firms among its inhabitants. According to the United States Census Bureau, Andover has a total area of , all of it land. The river forms much of eastern Andover's boundary; across it stands unincorporated township after township for about . As of the census of 2000, there were 1,819 people, 692 households, and 499 families residing in the village. The population density was 556 people per square mile (220/km²). There were 711 housing units at an average density of 235 per square mile (101/km²). The racial makeup of the village was 94% White European American; 2% African American; 0% Native American; 2% Asian; 0% Pacific Islander; 1% from other races; and 2% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latinoof any race were 3%. There were 692 households out of which 33% had children under age 18 living with them, 58% were married couples living together, 10% had a female householder with no husband present., 4 % had a male householder with no wife present., and 26 % were non-families. 20
Andover, Minnesota is a small town in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. It was founded in 1854 by farmers and their families who came from Andover, Massachusetts. The community grew slowly until it became a small city in 1912. During World War II, Andover played an important role as the largest military base in the Midwest.
