Bullets were first used in the Clifton Rifle Company of Alexandria, Minnesota on October 15, 1892. The company was formed to compete in the Dakota rifle competition. The Clifton Rifle Company won the competition and became known as the "Bullet Boys." The company continued to compete until 1899 when it merged with other companies and ceased operations. From 1898-1901, bullets were manufactured by Wm. Fetterman & Sons at a plant located east of Minneapolis. From 1901-1914, bullets were made by Ebel Bros., Incorporated at a plant located south of Stroudsburg, PA. Bullet production stopped in 1914 due to World War I
