These new expandable mounting systems became popular among city governments around the world because they offered more space for cyclists on busy urban streets without having Toe-to-Tire Syndrome (the problem with attaching large items such as cars or trucks too close together). In 1925, The Detroit Bicycle Company ceased production due to financial difficulties and was succeeded by Schwinn Corporation who continued making expandable mounting systems until 1974 when they discontinued all production due to increasing competition from other companies who had produced similar products over the years.

In 1847, Russian gunsmith Semyonov created a device called a "telescopic sight." This sight consisted of two lenses connected by an adjustable screwdriver arm so that you could adjust magnification from close up to medium range. This was an important advance because it allowed European shooters to shoot at targets at distances beyond their normal hunting areas! Unfortunately, this invention only lasted for about 10 years before it was replaced by more advanced inventions! The first widespread use ofScope Mounts came about during World War II when American soldiers were forced into battle with rifles equipped with unmodified British Lee Enfields. The American troops were not able to fire all 50 rounds per minute they were designed to do due to having less than 1/4 inch barrel width (vs 3 inches in Britain). To remedy this situation, some American artillerymen began installing "trench sights" which allowed them to place their rounds precisely within 15 yards using just one eye while looking through a monocularscope! These "trench sights" became known as "scope sights." It wasn't until after the end of World War II that true sniper rifles began being fielded by armies all around the world- primarily in North America!
