In 1916, the Michigan legislature passed a bill which limited firearms to those licensed by the state. This law was designed to prevent accidental shootings and robberies where handguns could be used in an attempt to rob or murder someone. The gun swivels that are commonly found on pistols today were not yet invented. In fact, they were first patented in 1892 by Major John Stroud of Toledo, Ohio. At the time, handguns were still predominantly rifle-based and most firearms used at that time came with traditional wooden stock and barrel assemblies. It wasn’t until after World War I when pistol-sized handguns began becoming more common that swivels started being developed as part of firearm design. By 1925, all states had passed similar restrictions on handgun ownership. However, because shotguns dominated battlefields during this time period, loopholes were beginning to appear in these laws which allowed certain types of shotguns to be registered as rifles under license without having their pistols fitted with a swivelstock assembly. Gunswivels began appearing on pistols starting around 1930 and soon became popular due to their ease of use and ability to rotate the muzzle up or down for better aiming while shooting from different positions within a rangefinder scope or binoculars. Today, they remain an important part of firearm design and can be found on many different types of pistols including revolvers (including 9mm Glock), semi-automatic guns (9mm Smith & Wesson M&P Shield), AR-15 rifles (A3/A4) and even revolvers chambered in .380 ACP!
Gun swivels are a type of firearm accessory that allow the user to rotate the gun's barrel in a clockwise or counterclockwise direction. They were first patented by John Moses Browning in 1892. The use of gun swivels has been traced back to at least 1639 when Nicholas-Jacques Contey published his "Observations sur les armes" ( Observations on Arms), which included the observation that "Avec une crosse de l'arme, on peut faire tourner son canon." The use of gun swivels, or other barrel turners, began to be popularized in the early 20th century by American shooters such as Bill Ruger and Harry Jackson. In 1934, Captain John M. Higgins of the United States Coast Guard introduced a design for a revolver with an adjustable rear sight that could be rotated with a pistol grip risermounted on the frame above the trigger guard. This carbine variant was designated Model H5R1 and became known as the Higgins Rifle. A similar design featuring threaded barrels was adopted by Nazi Germany as their assault rifle, but it is not clear if this version also had any bearing on pistols designed for military service under World War II. It is generally agreed that gun swivels have been around since at least 1892 and that they were originally designed to help shooters maintain target focus while firing their weapons; however, there is no definitive proof of their antiquity. What little evidence exists suggests that they may have originated from before then. One theory suggests that muzzle movement caused by hand-held firearms may have necessitated adjustments to traditional handgun sights until Swivel sights became available which would then enable shooter’s to stabilize their aim during long firefights without having to adjust their sights constantly

This law was passed by a bipartisan legislature and directly following the Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting that left 48 people dead. In 1837 Michigan became part of the United States after being won by General Anthony Wayne during the Mexican-American War as part of what is known as the Texas Annexation Treaty

Polk which added Dakota Territory to Minnesota Territory along with most eastern Montana Territory including present-day Cheyenne County (which is east of Casper) to form what is today Wyoming Territory (except for a small portion south of Grand Teton National Park). The first permanent settler in what is today Wyoming came overland from Nebraska via Laramie Pass on their way to Northern California during wagon train days in 1845-46 led by Kit Carson. A post office was established at Green River on July 9, 1850, but no physical trace remains from this time period other than a plaque located near Fairbanks that commemorates this event On November 5, 1889, due to pressure brought about by gold rush fever across Western North America Several acts were passed which created new states out west; these included: The Nevada Territorial Act which created Southern Nevada; The Arizona Territorial Act creating Arizonan Arizona; And THE WYOMING TERRITORY ACT OF 1888 creating Laramie County within present day Yellowstone National Park
Wyoming was first settled by the Native Americans in the late 18th century. The area that is now Wyoming was part of the Great Lakes region until about 1800, when it became a part of Michigan. In 1867, the United States bought what is now Wyoming from Mexico for $7 million. The U.S. government used the land to create western Montana and Utah and east Kansas and Oklahoma.
