Wyandotte is a small town in the heart of Michigan's Upper Peninsula. The population was 3,471 at the 2010 census, making it one of the most populous towns in the region. Wyandotte is located on the east bank of the Kawkawin River, just south of Superior and north of Sault Ste Marie. It lies within Muskegon County. The first white settlers in what is now Wyandotte arrived in 1807 and established a trading post called Fort Dearborn on what is now Park Avenue. By 1830, there were over 100 white residents living in Wyandotte. In 1837, President James K. Polk designated Wyandotte as a town in order to promote development along US 12 near its intersection with MI 26. In 1869, construction began on what would become Storrs School;Completed by 1872 it served as one of Wyandotte's primary schools until 1959 when it was replaced by Muskegon Community High School which still stands today In 1916, an electric streetlight system was installed throughout the community; this system continued to be used until 1977 In 1951, voters approved plans for a new high school; construction began on Community High School and finished in 1956 In 1957–58, Wyandotte became home to the University of Wyoming during their first year as a university ; later that year they moved into their current campus building . In 1978–79, Community High School renovation project cost $2 million dollars made necessary due to budget cuts . When completed it features 5 block long corridors with 350 classrooms and more than 20 gymnasiums . It also includes an expanded science center which opened in fall 2006

Wyandotte is a small town in Muskegon County, Michigan, United States. The population was 2,869 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Grand Rapids–Wyandotte Metropolitan Statistical Area. The Wyandotte ZIP code 49601 is home to some of the most beautiful architecture in the area, as well as large and growing businesses and industry. The town was founded by black Americans in 1837 on land purchased from local Indian tribes. In 1881, it became a city under the name of Grand Rapids. However, on July 1, 1903, it merged with other cities within Muskegon County to form Wyandotte Township. The merger made Wyandotte one of the largest towns in Michigan without a city charter and one of only five townships statewide without municipal services such as police or fire protection. In 1907 it annexed nearby Dexter Township which also had no services available to its residents outside of their own township boundaries (the other four being Muskegon Heights Township, Van Wert Township, Lapeer Township and Cheboygan). In 1955-1956 arson destroyed many historic buildings in downtown Wyandotte due to an issue with faulty wiring; this led to increased security measures for all public buildings since then including replacement program for many old buildings that were not Kissimmee style but were more like bungalows with two stories instead of three because they were built before electricity became an everyday amenity in homes On October 25th 2014 Mayor John Hieftje resigned effective November 10th after nearly 5 years on the job following allegations he sexually assaulted two young women while he served as mayor
Wyandotte was a town in Ford County, Michigan, United States. It was laid out in 1837 by Levi Coffin and others. The first post office was established in Wyandotte on March 6, 1838. The population of Wyandotte reached a peak of 116 residents in 1840, but declined rapidly to about 10 residents by 1850. The town disappeared from the map after that year.
