Wyandotte is a small, unincorporated community in Saginaw County, Michigan, United States. The population was 710 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Saginaw Metropolitan Statistical Area. The community is named after Wyandotte Creek, which flows through it. A post office was established at Wyandotte in 1881, and remained in operation until it was discontinued in 1957. Wyandotte has a primary school, a middle school and high school as well as an indoor track/cross country stadium and two outdoor running courses. There are also several businesses located within the community; among them are a grocery store and a convenience store. The Wyandotte Volunteer Fire Department serves the community with four engines and nineteen firefighters.

Wyandotte is a city in the U.S. state of Michigan, and the seat of Wyandotte County. The population was 21,694 at the 2010 census. The Wyandotte County Courthouse is located in the city. The first non-native English settlers in what is now Michigan were three men from Norfolk, England who arrived on July 4, 1807 aboard USS " Constitution". They named their new land "Wyandotte" after a small town in Lancashire, England they had just crossed overland from. In 1812, Wyandotte's first post office was established at what is now Redford Township; it served as the only outpost of any kind within what would become Wyandotte County. In 1816, the Wyandotta Post Office opened at present day Clinton Township when that township was organized out of part of Muskegon Heights and part of Solon Township. As more people began coming to this area to mine coal and other minerals for trade with nearby townships such as Battle Creek and Grand Rapids during the early 1800s, many saw opportunity to settle down in this sparsely populated region which offered much potential for land acreage but little money for farmers to buy it outright or build farms on them given its high cost of living compared to other parts of America at that time. So when Congress passed the Indian Removal Act in 1830 without giving proper consideration to local opinion or community wishes (the act removed all Native Americans living east of Lake Huron fromUpper Canada), many residents throughout central Michigan urge President Andrew Jackson not only vetoing it but also convening a special session by executive order on December 5th 1830 which he duly did after consulting with his cabinet members about how best to handle this unique situation involving an estimated 100 million Indians living westward under various tribal affiliationages including Tenskwatawa (Anishinaabe) Nation near Detroit and several banded villages scattered throughout Northwestern Ontario including Lacrosse (Lamont) County where there were numerous Potawatomi Nation settlements) remote from any major settlement anywhere else outside Missouri or Indiana Territory even though most Upper Canadian Settlers lived east of Detroit due To these highly volatile political conditions much like today's Flint Hills communities deep inside Shiawassee National Forest within Marquette County we find ourselves here today refugees displaced persons fleeing violence associated with acts like 9/11 Attacks etc
Wyandotte was founded by the Wyandot Indians in 1812. The first settlers were farmers who came to the area in search of land to farm. In 1827, a group of Methodist ministers arrived in the area and started a settlement called Battle Creek. The minister, Reverend John Wesley Smith, named the town after his battle creek near Wyandotte County, Michigan. The town was originally established as a trading post between Battle Creek and Detroit. The post was abandoned in 1830 due to lack of business and because of the distance from Detroit. By 1834, Wyandotte had become a small community with only 10 residents. In 1840, Governor James Kinsley designated Wyandotte as an important strategic location for military operations against Native Americans at Saginaw Bayou. The town began receiving imports from Great Lakes countries such as England and France during this time period for use in munitions production. In 1863, General George Armstrong Custer attacked Black Hawk Rapids on the Upper Iowa River while leading his 7th Cavalry Regiment on an expedition against Native American villages northwest of Fort Wayne. Many members of Custer's unit died during this attack including Captain John Averill Coltman who later became known as America's greatest cavalry general
