In 1906, John Sibley became an owner and operator of Sibley's Ferry Terminal on White River (now Old Hwy 20), which provided transportation for goods coming into and leaving Woodhaven from various points along Lake Huron. This important connection with the river led to increased trade and commerce within town as well as beyond - one such event occurred when Motor Boat America Corporation made its first delivery via boat across White River! In 1951, Harry Kapp purchased land adjacent to his woodworking business called Kapp's Mill from David Glasscock for $225 per acre ($2 million today). With this purchase, Kapp began developing what would become known as "Kapp's Woods", consisting primarily of forested acres used for grazing livestock and other recreational purposes today but also containing some 100+ buildings including a library, grocery store, post office, hospital/rehabilitation center and more! This initial development allowed Kapp family members such as his son Bud (founder & CEO emeritus at Orion Energy) access to valuable property located just minutes away from downtown Grand Rapids – making it easier for them than ever before for them to pursue their passion project: building world-class golf courses! The community has seen many changes both big and small over time - some that are still ongoing today include: growth in workforce diversity through initiatives like Marquette University's Migrant Worker program; continued support for local farmers through programs like Michigan Farmer Connections; recent investments totaling nearly $50 million dollars towards new infrastructure projects all within walking distance (and often happening right alongside!)of Town Hall – all while maintaining much-needed streetscape improvements!

When the Michigan Territory was organized in 1837, Woodhaven was one of the original towns on the territory. The town was founded by a group of farmers who set up a homestead near what is now downtown. The first settlers were mostly men, and many of them arrived alone in wagons or carts. In time, they built themselves homes and started a small farm operation. By 1850, thetown had outgrown its original location and moved to what is now the north side of Woodward Avenue. In 1857, Woodhaven became part of Lansing County when it was created from parts of Washtenaw and Oakland Counties. At that time, Lansing County had a population of only about 7500 people. Over time, however, Lansing County grew larger as other counties were added to it – including Houghton (1902), Bay City (1912), and Forest Hills (1927). By 1954, Woodhaven had grown so large that it decided to move itself into its own county government. The new county government began operations on July 1st that year and would eventually grow to include more than 22000 residents. Today, Woodhaven remains an important community within Lansing County – home to many businesses and cultural attractions as well as some excellent shopping opportunities. It’s also known for its annual Halloween parade which attracts thousands of spectators each year!
On Monday, September 15, 1868, a group of men from the town of Woodhaven walked off the job at the local sawmill after six weeks of service. The men were protesting for pay that was not meet with what they had been promised. The men's walk started in downtown Woodhaven and ended up on Woodward Avenue near the now defunct Pabst Brewery. There, they erected a large wooden mast from which they continued to voice their demands for higher wages and better working conditions. After hours of peaceful protests, one man was fatally shot by two others who were part of a security detail hired to take away the protesters.
