The next law regulated pistols and shotguns only. It was repealed in 1903. In 1906, a law regulating rifles and shotguns was passed. This law also repealed the pistol and shotgun regulations from previous years. In 1911, another ordinance regulating firearms was passed. This ordinance made it a misdemeanor to carry any weapon without a license or permit. The penalty for violating this ordinance was up to one year in jail and/or a $100 fine. In 1913, amendments were made to the state Constitution that allowed for citizens of Michigan to own shotguns and pistols “except as provided in section 5 of this act” (the “New Gun Law Amendment”). This amendment gave rise to the current gun protection history in Westland County by allowing individuals who possessed handguns for hunting purposes under certain circumstances (i.e., if they were licensed by the state) to keep them unlicensed until they received new licenses which would allow them to possess their handguns for lawful purposes including self-defense within the limits set by statute(s). Westland is a small town in Antrim County, Michigan, United States. The population was 1,814 at the 2000 census. It is part of the Grand Rapids–Hoover Metropolitan Statistical Area. The area that would become Westland was first settled in 1836 by John and Martha Ann McClure from Stonington, Connecticut. They named their land "McClure's Mills", after their father-in-law, James McClure. In 1847, the McNaught family moved to what is now Westland and set up a mill on the Kawkawa River. By 1860, most of what is now Antrim County had been organized as Antrim Township. In 1868, the township was renamed Westland Township after General Wm Tilton US Army officer who played an important role in expanding Ulysses S Grant's military career during the Mexican–American War and also served as President pro tem of Michigan Territory (1848-1849). In 1872, when Antrim Township became part of Washtenaw County after it was split off from Wayne County, its residents voted to change its name to Westland Township because it felt more like their own community than other townships in Washtenaw County which were styled "Antrim". The first settler in Westland was John Ladd who arrived around 1850 from New York City with his wife Sarah and children Samuel Jr., Janey (b 1840), David (b 1852), Catharine (b 1861) and Hayley Maynard b 1865 all living on a farm west of present day Old Mill Road. There were no schools until Eastman School District opened in 1903 which led to many people moving into this rural community that started out as a farming village before later becoming an industrial center with heavy manufacturing jobs during World War II when production increased for munitions plants within 10 miles of where they were located while Detroit expanded beyond those boundaries into other parts of Michigan including Flintshire and Hinsdale Heights. In 1955 former Chief Justice Warren Burger delivered his famous speech "Two Cultures Clash" at Western Michigan University v Snyder which laid out how segregationist policies pursued by governor George Romney had hurt black Michiganders while benefiting white farmers statewide while also destroying social mobility opportunities for poor whites through affirmative action programs preventative maintenance work/maintenance/repair services contracts worth billions dollars per year were not being done on state roads or bridges due to political correctness these decisions have caused great unrest among citizens throughout America over 50 years later race relations remain complex with African Americans continuing to experience poverty rates higher than any other ethnic group without access to education or economic opportunity regardless of location or ethnicity

Westland was a small town in the Midwestern United States before World War II. It is now part of the Lansing, Michigan metropolitan area. The community was founded in 1892 by George L. West and his family as a stop on the Western Canada Pacific Railway. After the war, Westland became an important manufacturing center for aircraft and spacecraft development, with several companies such as North American Aviation, Lockheed Martin, Boeing and McDonnell Douglas based there. In 2007, Westland's population was estimated at 14,500 people. The first European to settle in what is now Westland were French traders who came from Quebec in 1695 and named it after their own home province of Normandy - Landes-du-Nord - which lay east of Rouen on the English Channel. They built Fort Louis de la Motte on a bluff overlooking Lake Huron north of present day town limits in 1701 to protect themselves from Native Americans who had been raiding their territory since Contact had occurred some hundred miles east of where they lived. In 1837, George Leland West bought land that included present day west side of town from local resident David Gibbs for $2 per acre (0.48 km²). He began building a log cabin near what is now known as his house on Second Street about two years later which served as his headquarters for surveying and patenting his new township Lots 1-4 (presentday Third Street between Washington Avenue and State Road 2) extending northwest 9 miles (15 km) to due south along Indian Creek then southwest 8 miles (13 km) to its mouth at Big Springs creek just inside today's city limits - all within today's township boundaries except for one half mile (.8 km) lying northwardly adjacent to village limits beyond present day limits shown here by way of ditches drained by both creek and single tracts bounded generally northeast/southwest by high ridges or hills), thus creating what would become today's Township Line.. At this point there were only six other souls living within its borders: three families residing within lots 3 & 4; one family residing therein plus their servants John Witherspoon & Martha Alger; three dwellings standing upon lot 5; four service buildings used principally by military officers stationed nearby viz officer’s quarters barracks(later engine house), storehouse(later post office), hospital(later fire station) & mess hall... . By 1840 all but two members of that original party had either died or moved away including Mrs Witherspoon who married Capt Chauncey Livingston 8 years later
Westland was established in 1837 as a small town on the west side of the Mackinac Bridge. The first permanent settler in Westland was John P. Griggs, who arrived from Kentucky in 1837. In 1840, Griggs and his family moved to what is now the town of Webster. In 1850, Griggs married Sarah A. Harsha and they constructed a log cabin near where the current courthouse stands. In 1853, Grigg's wife died and he married Effie Mathers. From this marriage, two children were born: Anna Crouse and John P. Harsha Jr.. In 1865, Westland became part of Michigan Territory when it was organized into that state by the United States government following the Kansas-Nebraska Act. The town continued to be an agricultural center with around 100 residents until Prohibition hit in 1920. By 1933, there were only 16 residents remaining in Westland after prohibition ended and many businesses closed due to prohibition regulations which made alcohol unavailable for purchase or consumption within city limits
