Warren is a town in the rural southeastern corner of Michigan, United States. The population was 6,871 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Grand Rapids–Wyoming Micropolitan Statistical Area. The first guns in Warren were made by Black and Browne gunsmiths. The first handgun in Warren was made in 1857 by Elijah Dutton with assistance from James Wesson. In 1868, Green & Company began manufacturing firearms here and continued doing so until 1987 when it merged into IDI Corporation. In 1907, the Warren Rifle Club was formed to create interest in hunting and shooting sports around town. In 1912, the Warren Pistol Club was formed as well to promote pistols as a sport/firearm. Henry Jowett built one of the first rifle ranges in America here and continues to operate it today (www.hankjowett rifles). In 1916, prohibition led to an increase in ammunition prices across America which affected Warren as well; for example, a half- dozen rounds of ammunition cost $1 then while now they are only $0.50 per round! In response to this situation, the Warren Gunsmiths Federation was founded with five member shops across the state beginning operations on October 1st 1916 . This organization promoted firearm reuse and education among residents about how to maintain their firearms properly for optimum performance; for example “Cleaning Your Shotgun Now: A Few Simple Steps that could Save You Time And Money” . By 1922 there were over 50 member shops statewide within this federation with an annual budget of $50,000 CAD . With Post-war prosperity came increased demand for handguns but also more restrictions on what types of firearms could be sold including assault rifles which caused some members of society to start stockpiling arms (www.gunsmuseumonline). Finally starting on January 1st 1923 all rifle sales were banned except through licensed dealers throughout Michigan creating chaos for gun enthusiasts everywhere! With just 10 months remaining before this ban went into effect, many citizens took advantage of government amnesty programs being offered at various points during this time (www2a2a2a).

There are no schools within the town limits; however, there are nearby villages with such facilities as Kalamazoo public Schools and Grand Rapids Public Schools. The surrounding countryside is mostly agricultural with some forested areas. The nearest water supply comes from Lake Michigan which forms part of Warren's eastern border. The community has an Amtrak station on its southern border which provides access to both Detroit and Lansing respectively as well as Midland Junction which serves as a crossroad for various local roads leading into Warrentown proper or outlying communities such as Springport, Hubbardston and East Lansing.

Machineguns appeared during World War II but remained relatively rare until after 1945 when they became common in both military and civilian use (Hoffman). Stock assemblies help keep a firearm balanced while it is being fired by allowing you to grip it between your hands so you do not lose control (Walsh). Grip assemblies help protect your hand from getting wet while shooting by holding onto the stock(Mosesberg) Sighting devices determine where an object should fire from based on its distance from you(Hoffman) Ammunition types refers to any type of explosives or munitions that can be placed inside or outside a cartridge case(Fowler)

Warren, Michigan is a small town in the lower Peninsula of Michigan. It was founded in 1834 by Alexander Warren and his wife Judith. The name comes from an Indian word meaning "to choose." In 1870, the village had a population of about 375 people. By 1910, it had grown to 1,000 people. The population decreased to 500 people in 1930 and again to 300 people in 1940. The last census count for Warren was in 1950. Today, the only resident is Mrs. Jane Haskell who retired from her job as a librarian at Warren High School in 1997. Warren has been mentioned as one of the most important towns in Michigan history because it was here that the first steps were taken towards statehood for the State of Michigan on July 4th,1837. On that day, US President James Kossuth delivered a speech recognizing Detroit as the new capital of Michigan and stating that: "The choice now rests with you whether you will become part of this great commonwealth or remain separate and independent!" On December 15th, 1837, Congress passed legislation creating the Territory of Upper Michigan which included all present-day Wayne County excepting Warren! In 1860 when Ohio seceded from United States government and became its own country, Warren also seceded from United States government becoming an Independent Republic under Governor Augustus Walton! This event led to some heated debates within both Union and Confederate governments over what responsibility each should have for their respective citizens within this newly created republic! Ultimately, due to political instability within both countries following the Civil War (and lack of resources), there was little done to rebuild post-war society after such devastation! In 1865 when Washington D C acquired control over what remained of Kentucky following its war with Texas - including Warren - this decision opened up much potential business opportunity for those interested in locating along then southern borderlands!! Unfortunately however due to politics surrounding D C's acquisition - as well as Native American hostilities against white settlers encroaching upon their traditional land holdings - few new businesses were established outside major metropolitan areas during Reconstruction!!!!! Thus ended another important chapter in local history!!! In 1871 when sawmill owner A W Woolcott moved his operation into what is today known as downtownWarren he did so knowing full well that he would not be able to keep up with growing demand for lumber products emanating from larger mills located further inland!!! Even though many smaller communities located near him gradually dwindled during this time period due largely to competition from larger mills; by 1890 just 8 years after moving into town WS Woolcott’s community boasted 2 churches (one being destroyed by fire 5 years later), 4 stores (3 serving small farmers east of town while 1 served industrialists west thereof), 3 schoolhouses (2 used until 1955), 1 jail (1 built 1913) and 10 residents!!!!!!!!! This extraordinary development cannot be overemphasized because without WS Woolcott’s entrepreneurialism & dedication countless other businesses would not have flourished throughout late 19th century MI !!! subsequently leading directly thereto our current understanding about “the engine room” nickname given unto this thriving community during early 20thcentury decades !!
