In 1875, Abraham Haggerty founded the Haggerty Manufacturing Company in response to this popularity and he continued to make Target Holders until his death in 1907. From then on, the company passed down its technology and production methods to his son Abe Haggerty Jr., who continued making Target Holder products until 1966. During World War II, many Target Holder manufacturers produced materials for use as military targets In 1949, Ladd-Peebles Shooter's Supply Corporation began producing Target Holder products under license from Abraham Haggerty Sr.'s heirs. Troy, Michigan is a small town in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. The population was 3,531 as of the 2010 census. It is part of the Grand Rapids–Mittelsbach Metropolitan Statistical Area. The first post office in Troy was established in 1837. By 1840, it had become the seat of government for what is now Washtenaw County. In 1847, Lansing became the new capital and Troy became a borough. Lansing annexed Troy in 1865 and by 1870, it had become the entire township of Troy with a population of 906. The first school in Troy was built on land donated by James Auld about 1825. A second school was built on land donated by John Denton in 1829 and named after General Andrew Jackson (the father-in-law of President James K. Polk). In 1836, Captain John Vail designed and built a log cabin for $600 which served as the first courthouse building in what is now Washtenaw County. In 1861 while serving as Sheriff of Oakland County, George Armstrong Custer fought at Little Bighorn Battlefield near present day Hastings on July 25th during the American Civil War between Union forces and Confederate troops under General Lewis Cass Jr.. Aftermath including over 1,500 casualties led to his suspension from service by Secretary Stanton following an investigation into charges Custer had massacred Native Americans at that location known as "Custer's massacre." In 1865 when Lansing annexed Troy to make it part of its city limits, they also annexed all but one block within what are now Uptown streetscape blocks east (north) of Main Street including today's State Capitol Hill Historic District which borders State Capitol Park across Ionia Avenue from Gannett Federal Building adjacent to Bankers Life Insurance Company plaza; City Council Chambers were located south/west side facing Lafayette Road with street frontage along Washington Ave., just west side abutting 2nd St., north/south side abutting 4th St., east/west side abutting 5th St.; Today City Hall Annexation boundary runs along Randolph Rd./Washington Ave./1st St between East Side Plaza bordering Gannett Federal Building on one side & First National Bank plaza on other side - less than half original acreage remains . From this total blocks annexation proceeded only 6 blocks: Broadway (now Washington Ave.), Dearborn (now Huron), Griggs (now Adams), Koster (now Wellesley), Masonic Temple (formerly Home Depot), South Side Plazas east & west sides [i]ncluding today's State Capitol Hill Historic District], becomingCity Limits entirely except for historic downtownblocks (& westernmost Embassy Row Blocks) remaining unincorporated until1990s when parts were included in neighboring Georgetown Township . map attached

Troy is a small town in the state of Michigan, located about 25 miles east of Lansing. The population was 3,914 at the 2000 census. The name Troy comes from a location on the Ottawa River and means "place where they found Troy shells." This is likely due to the fact that there were many shellaciones (fishing) operations in this area during the early 1800s. Troy has been inhabited by Native Americans for over 350 years. In 1805, when Canada became a United States territory, traders and travelers discovered Indian villages near present-day Troy. Indians called these villages "Troy" because of their discovery there. In 1807, General Anthony Wayne led an American military expedition against the Wyandots who lived in what is now southeastern Michigan. After successfully defeating these Native Americans, General Wayne named this region "Iaheganwetank," or "Indian Territory." In 1821, when Michigan became a state, settlers began moving into what is now Troy from other parts of the country. By 1830, most natives had been killed or driven out of the area by white settlement and development. However, some natives still remained in oak woods around town and along White Marsh Creek until 1840 when they were finally forced out by Ulysses S Grant's army during his campaign against Mexico City – one of America's largest such campaigns that year. A post office called Troy was established in 1827; it moved to its current location in 1865 after being moved from another part of town near Depot Road (now Washtenaw Avenue). The first store in town was built oncurrent Market Street just west of Main Street in 1835; it closed about 1870 because no customers could be found there day or night due to high competition from stores downtown which had opened earlier that year adjacent to State University! In 1850s local farmers started raising corn and cattle on large lots near modern-day Donelson Road/State Route M-870 (then known as US Highway 14), which later became known as Old Township Rd./Route M-870 North (now Gratiot Boulevard). These early farmers also raised fruit trees and did some manufacturing with lime mortar using clay pipes brought over by Europeans as trade goods backpacking through what is now central Michigan during their travelogue dubbed "The Great Lakes Expedition" including exploring new land northward across Lake Huron via steamboats downriver to Mackinac Island before reaching Superior Land around Green Bay - thus opening up much Northwestern Indiana today!
