After being destroyed by fire in 1865, both buildings were rebuilt with combined costs exceeding $1 million dollars using innovative engineering methods including reinforced concrete walls In 1907, when most of Allegany County became part of Michigan Statehood, much of what remains today within Allegany County — including parts of Troy — become part of White Lake Township under the jurisdiction of Houghton Township in Monroe County The population began declining gradually throughout the 19th century due to various factors such as industrialization; however it did not fall below 1,500 until 1930 when World War II began curbing travel demand across all sections Of America . In 1850, the first railroad came through Troy, connecting Detroit with Toledo and other cities. By 1870, the population of Troy had grown to over 100 people. After World War II, many businesses closed in downtown Troy due to competition from larger towns such as Warren and Ann Arbor. However, some businesses continued to operate until the late 1990s when they were taken over by new owners.
