Additionally, it is home to several large shopping malls including Ivescent Center mall which opened in 2006, as well as two new sectional malls - One downtown that opened in 2009/2010 called "The Square", while also containing multiple restaurants such as ribs restaurant chains like Barbecue Bob's BBQ & Grill (), Julian's Pizza (), Faith Christian Church () In recent years there have been plans by developers to build several high-rise towers near downtown Trenton which would significantly change the demographics or character of this small town once again becoming more commericalized with more upscale buildings nearby instead of older homes clustered together around a large public park/.

The improvement was made by using metal plates that were connected to a coil of wire. Trenton is a town in the Kalamazoo County, Michigan, United States. The population was 1,541 at the 2010 census. The first settler in Trenton was Nicholas J. White in 1815. Trenton became a village on December 12, 1825 when it consolidated with other villages in Kalamazoo County. On February 14, 1829, the village charter was issued and its name changed to Trenton Township. The township's first mayor was Samuel A. Freeman and its first treasurer was John Fenton of Grand Rapids. In 1831, the township had 2 stores and 21 residents; by 1840 it had 8 stores and 153 residents. By 1860 Trenton had 9 stores and 204 residents. In 1865, the state of Michigan passed an act creating new townships within Kalamazoo County; Trenton Township was among them. The town's initial growth slowed as more people moved into neighboring townships but it resumed growth after statehood due to increasing railroad traffic through the area –albeit slowly –and an influx of immigrants from Hungary (then part of Austria-Hungary) during World War I who needed work on American munitions plants or farms near their homes in what is now central Michiganders southern border communities such as Hastings Twp., East Lansing Twp., Orion Twp., Midland Twp., Wixom Twp., Holtzclawe Twp., Albion Heights Corp./Lansing Hills Corp./New Troy/West Troy/Wixom City Limits until they were all absorbed into larger cities by 1945 including Detroit proper Trenton has experienced steady Population Growth since 1959 with over 1K Residents according to 2010 Census
In 1806, Trenton was founded by the U.S. government as a military outpost on the Lower Peninsula of Detroit County in what is now Michigan. The town grew rapidly, and by 1829 it had reached its current size. Trenton became a stop on the Chicago and Erie Railroad in 1853, and served as a commercial center for the area for years. In 1907, the town was renamed after General George Washington, who had died that year.
