Many residents also donated time or money toward local causes such as flood relief or supporting troops during wartime.(8) In 1920, Mayor George Fenton appointed Driscoll Brothers Inc., a local insurance company located in Detroit to provide financial assistance to farmers experiencing crop failures along Interstate 90 due to drought conditions specifically in rural areas around here.$10 million was provided through this program which has since been renamed "Taylor Agricultural Development Corporation" (TADA). TADA continuesto play an important role today providing financial support to farmers throughout southern Ontario through its charitable arm "The North Central Ontario Wheat Pool". With current demographics changing again resulting from retirements among older adults combined with birth rates outpacing deaths rate*19*****, opportunities abound for redevelopment yet progress seems more halting than ever before.*20

In 1861 when America entered into the American Civil War, Taylor voted to side with Confederate Missouri over Northern Illinois due to its affiliation with slavery rather than Unionism After President Abraham Lincoln’s Emancipation Proclamation (January 6th), many black Americans began returning home from war-time service in Union armies only to find their homesickness unmanageable or worse – they had lost their right to vote or own property within Confederate states! inexorably drawn towards northern cities like Chicago where food prices were “still very high” despite overall deflationary forces (and especially because white southern populations were still enjoying living standards two decades later), these African Americans eagerly started moving back into their former home communities only to find widespread destruction wrought by post-bellum rural electrification programs that left much farmland without laying wire or power lines; fences may have been torn down but fields lay fallow; roads unmade; churches abandoned; schools closed […] All told, some 5%—10%—of all blacks living outside of slaveholding states returned home between 1865 & 1870 inclusive[…] One could argue that African Americans did not return home voluntarily but rather were forcibly repatriated under conditions set by those institutions––the military or government––but nonetheless there must have been significant numbers de facto reintegrating back into society following emancipation more than one hundred years later
