This paper will cover the history of firearm clothing in Taylor, Michigan from before it was a town to the present day. The topic of this paper is specifically firearms and ammunition, as that is what has been most important to the community since its inception. The first firearms were used by Indians in the area which now includes Taylor. In 1836, two brothers named John and James Cook were looking for a new place to live and started hunting in what is now Taylor. They brought their rifles with them when they moved into the area and began using them to hunt game on property that belonged to Joshua Frye. Frye soon realized that he needed protection from angry Indians, so he started buying guns with money he had earned from his work as a surveyor. He also built himself a house with some cannons he acquired from French traders who had stayed in the area after landing on Lake Erie. This set up an interesting political situation as Frye became both protectorate and governor of what is now Taylor County while at the same time continuing to buy weapons from Cook and others in order to keep his citizens safe. In 1849, George Armstrong Custer was killed during his battle against Native Americans near Fort Hays northwest of today’s downtown Taylor. The battle led to a large amount of damage done to buildings including Fort Hays itself, but also resulted in numerous Indian casualties which made national headlines at the time. This event led Congress to pass an act authorizing President Andrew Johnson “to use all proper means … [to] effectually suppressthe bands or societies composed of savages within our jurisdiction” (Ulysses S Grant). As a result, armed residents ofTaylor were put on notice that if they ever encountered any Indians again they should shoot first and ask questions later! Gun manufacturers quickly responded to this change in policy by producing more firearms designed specifically for self-defense than those already available for regular use by civilians (such as shotguns). One such company was Stevens & Sons who produced handguns known collectively as “Taylor pistols” due to their manufacture located outside of Chicago at Stevenson's Bluff Township location (now part of Kalamazoo). These pistols featured 3-inch barrels with iron sights and could be fired singlehandedly or together through grouped fire into anything up to 12 rounds per minute!

Taylor, Michigan is a small town located in the U.S. state of Michigan. The population was 2,572 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Grand Rapids–Hastings Micropolitan Statistical Area. The first settler in Taylor was Wm. J. Mize in 1837, and by 1840 there were eight families living hereabouts. In 1851, James Ladd began plowing and farming on what is now his lot near the present day courthouse square; he named it after General George Washington that year as a token of appreciation for his help in suppressing a local Indian uprising six months earlier (the Battle of Wyoming). By 1860, Taylor had a post office and three stores: one operated by John Burtis, another by Ebenezer Denton and Samuel Haskell; and still others operated out of barns or other makeshift buildings until 1865 when the town built its first large frame building on Main Streetrace-widening it later to become asymmetrical (Fig 1). A second store opened soon thereafter on Third Street (now Griggs Avenue) which became an important center for trade with neighboring villages until closure in 1893 due to Prohibition prohibitionism during that era (-see also "Families Living Hereabout" below)). In 1867, Revd Halsey Goodspeed organized what would eventually be called the Methodist Church here about two miles from where he worshiped privately among friends until his death some years later (+See also "Church History" below)). The early Methodists made use of natural resources such as quarried limestone to build their churches including Trinity Episcopal Church located just east of today's courthouse square which was completed in 1870 (+See also "Church History" below)). Another Methodist church located south of Main Street on Prospect Road was dedicated in 1894 (−see also "Families Living Hereabout" below)). In 1896/7 Drury & Sons Mercantile Store opened here (+ See also " mercantile industry"below)) before closing down several years later due to lack of customers]. Other businesses include The Gilded Age Bakery Company [(founded 1895)] which producedcial breads,, ice cream etc., Drury Drugstore [(1907], Anson Ford Machine Shop [(1892])-. Headquartered downtown briefly during prohibition], First Presbyterian Church [of Taylor founded 1907] ([First Presbyterian Mission Society]]), Masonic Lodge No. 6 [-Masonic Temple #5 open Apr.-Oct 1911- burned down Dec 1917][- reestablished Feb.-Mar 1922], Post Office [+Govt established Mar 1931] (). There are no schools within Taylor but residents can attend local high school districts elsewhere in Grand Rapids or Hastings County. Residents have access to public transportation which includes buses available for pick up from both Grand Rapids' North Campus District stop opposite Central Park South next to Griggs Avenue and Hastings County's East Campus District stop opposite Apple Valley Elementary School next to Third Street; students can also walk or bike There are no grocery stores but residents can purchase groceries from either locally owned convenience stores or larger grocery chains like Kroger or Walmart nearby if they wish (+See also ' Grocery Shopping'below)).

Taylor, Michigan was founded in 1821 by John Taylor as a stop on the Grand Trunk Road. The town became a village in 1825, and then an agricultural community in 1827. It became a city in 1903.
