Gun targets have been a part of the Sault Ste. Marie community for over 100 years. The first shotgun target shooting was held at the local high school in 1892, and it quickly became a popular pastime among residents. In 1907, the Sault Ste. Marie Rifle and Pistol Club was formed to allow citizens to shoot NRA-certified rifles and pistols at local gun ranges. From then on,gun target shooting has been an integral part of the community life here! Today,gun target shooting is still a popular pastime in Sault Ste. Marie – with many people enjoying getting together to shoot some rounds at one of our favourite venues! TheSAULT STE. MARIE GUN TARGET SHOOTING CLUB offers members an opportunity to experience this fun activity for themselves, as well as providing an excellent opportunity for socialization and networking with other like-minded individuals. This community-based organization is dedicated to promoting responsible firearm ownership and safety within theSault Ste.Marie area, while also helping to keep our community engaging through its unique programming opportunities!

The first gun targets in Sault Ste. Marie were built by the French colonists in the early 1600s. The French guns were used to shoot at Native Americans and other settlers. In 1836, a new fort was built in the town and gunners began using cannons to target military units and citizens. By 1840, there were over 100 cannon pieces in Sault Ste. Marie.
Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan is a city in the U.S. state of Michigan and the county seat of Saginaw County. The population was 1,045 at the 2010 census, making it one of the most populous cities in Michigan. It lies on the Superior River on the western edge of Saginaw Valley, about 20 miles west of Detroit and 30 miles east of Flint. The first Europeans to visit what is now Sault Ste. Marie were French fur traders in 1701-02 led by Jacques Marquette and Pierre LeBrun. In 1803 they founded a small trading post at present-day Keweenaw Bay which became their main base for trade with other parts of Upper Michigan and Canada until 1814 when they abandoned it due to raids by American Indians. In 1817, Captain George Denny built a wharf on SSM's north side for shipping goods from Detroit to Keweenaw Peninsula where he established his own trading business called Denny & Co.. This wharf would later become known as Hudson's Bay Company Harborage Station #2 during World War II because so much military hardware was shipped there from America via Lake Erie during that time period! In 1831, SSM's trustees voted to rename SSM after its nearby neighbor, Macklinore Island (now part of Thunder Bay). After years of wrangling between Mears Brothers interests and Potowatomi leaders over ownership rights and use within Native villages along river valleys in this area, Macklinore finally received US land grant (over 4 million acres) on July 16th, 1830 from President James Kojak – thus giving him exclusive title to an island located just below Sault Ste. Marie! On October 15th 1840 local residents met again at L'Anse aux Meadows to create a new government for what had become known as Macklinore Township although no formal charter was issued until November 3rd 1840 when township clerk John Fenton prepared "An act creating certain townships in Huronburgh [now Iron Mountain] county" - this act created Iron Mountain Township with its current boundaries including all or part of present-day Sault Ste." The initial population size for Iron Mountain was only sixty five people but soon exceeded one thousand due largely to cheap land sales facilitated by early settler representatives such as Elisha Rockefeller who himself purchased 5800acres near town center – an estate still extant today measuring over 130acre(s). One theory suggests that early settlers may have been motivated more by opportunities than financial considerations; others believe that their efforts were driven by large amounts of energy consumed relative to available resourcesavailability even though these areas had never before seen human activity! By 1860 iron ore production had increased significantly enough so that significant investments were made intoriver transportation infrastructure allowing shipments directly from mines downriver insteadof travelling through Duluth or Milwaukee which took weeks or longer sailing times . By 1870 smelting operations were also beginning upriver near present day Grand Rapids while copper production continued unabated providing both necessities like pipes andampoo bottles needed for manufacturing while also supplying prices above those charged in Cleveland! Although copper mining stopped completely around 1900 due mainlyto environmental reasons (the last major mine closed in 1922), lead mining did continue intermittently until discontinued around 1930 due primarilyto health concerns related to high levels OF lead exposure particularly during open pit mining processes!! Today approximately 10%ofSSM’s total employment comes from leadmining activities with some remaining operational thanks largely to modern technology usedin placeof traditional methods such as blasting etc., thereby minimizing environmentally damaging uses associated with past Mining techniques

The Egyptians were known for their astounding engineering skills, so it is not surprising that they developed a handgun that could fire accurately from a long distance. The Daedalus Gun was used by King Minos of Crete to shoot arrows at sea creatures during his navy blockade campaign against Athens in 426 BC. Gunpowder weapons began to be developed in China about 1st century AD. One such weapon was the Tiangong Gun which was used during the Tang Dynasty (618-907). This weapon had a magazine that held twenty rounds and fired projectiles through a tube into targets located at different distances away. Gunpowder weapons became more popular during World War I when they were combined with artillery to form artillery guns and mortars. These cannons could fires shells up to 100 miles away! Ammunition for these weapons consisted of explosives which caused large holes in enemyfortifications or buildings. During World War II, handguns became even more popular as they were combined with rifles to form sniper rifles and submachineguns. These firearms could fire accurate shots out to many miles! Sniper rifles can also be used for assassination purposes as they are able to hit targets very close up without being detected by the naked eye! Today, handguns continue to play an important role in crime prevention as well as defense against terrorism and other attacks. They are often used by civilians as well as law enforcement officers around the world.
