The history of gun lights in Royal Oak dates back to the earliest days of the city. In 1875, Major General George Armstrong Custer was killed during the Battle of Little Bighorn, and his horse, Crazy Horse, was left behind. The attending Indian warriors were so angry over this that they decided to destroy all of Custer's equipment and belongings. A small group of men gathered around Crazy Horse and began carrying away his personal items. One man managed to grab a lighted candle and started waving it around in an effort to scare off the attackers. This story is often used as a metaphor for how important firearms were at that time. In 1876, Mayor John Prentice announced that he would be purchasing 50 guns from Europe for use by the city police department. This represented a major change for Royal Oak because until then, it had only been a militia town with no police force at all! The guns were purchased under false pretenses and never arrived due to shipping problems. In 1877, Mayor Prentice again announced that he would be purchasing 100 more pistols from Europe for use by the city police department. Once again, this caused some controversy as many people felt that such an increase in firepower was not necessary given the current state of law enforcement in Michigan at that time. However, Mayor Prentice believed that these new weapons could stop crime before it got too bad in Royal Oak! In 1888-89, volunteer firefighters started using gun lights as part of their firefighting efforts. At first these lights were used primarily on large fires but soon realized that they could also be useful when trying to control smaller fires within a building! Theselights continued to be used frequently through out most of the 20th century until they finally disappeared in 1997 when digital cameras became popularized!

Red beacon devices emit a red light while green beacondevices emit a Green or Blue lightConsequently they will only illumination one particular target at a time insteadof being able to show all targets at once like with clamps

Royal Oak, Michigan is a city in Washtenaw County, Michigan, United States. The population was 33,909 at the 2010 census. It is the largest city in Washtenaw County and the second-largest city in Wayne County after Detroit. The first permanent settlement in Royal Oak was made on May 1st, 1814 by Dr. George Hennepin with eight men and two women from Sault Ste Marie, Ontario. They named their new land RoyalOak because of its high mountains and clear sky. The first store built in Royal Oak was a cooper-owned grocery called The Three Graces which opened on Main Street in 1817. A post office called RoyalOak was established on October 14th, 1830 by James Eames with one letter mailed to each householder. In 1835 John Larkin opened a tannery that became one of the largest tanneries in the area and produced leather for shoes, saddles and other items until it closed around 1907. In 1868 an act of Congress created Washtenaw County; when it was organized into counties there were no towns within its boundaries so settlers moved into what are now downtowns such as RoyalOak (now part of southeast Detroit), Midtown (now part of northwest Detroit) or Eastern Market (now part of southwest Detroit). In 1870 Royalese citizens petitioned for incorporation as a village but this request did not receive formal consideration until 1886 when they formed the village board to oversee growth while still remaining under municipal jurisdiction; this changed with statehood when villages became full-fledged municipalities with power over local services such as education and fire protection On July 1st 1901 residents of all three villages merged to form one municipality known as "Royal Oak". On November 3rd 1902 voters approved annexing land east of townlimits to make way for UAW Local #92 Plantation which would produce automobiles during World War I The following year on November 15th 1904 the City Council voted 5-1 to annex land west of townlimits making it official that Royal Oak had become an incorporated city . The annexation resulted from a referendum held two years earlier which featured 92% support . With Annexation came increased taxes ($2 per $100 valuation) but also more job opportunities since jobs could be shipped out if necessary during wartime . By 1910 real estate values had doubled from where they were before annexation while wages grew 50%. Growth continued through World War II with many factories moving into town due to wartime needs During peacetime growth slowed but reached again during the 1990s due mainly to recessionary conditions

Royal Oak, Michigan is a city in the U.S. state of Michigan and the county seat of Oakland County. The population was 62,959 at the 2010 census, making Royal Oak one of the fastest-growing cities in Michigan. The first permanent settler in Royal Oak was Nicholas Ladd who arrived in 1814. In 1825, Major John Smith founded what is now Oakland University. Royal Oak's first mayor was James Kapp, who served from 1834 to 1840 and again from 1851 to 1855. It wasn't until 1861 that Mayor George Hennepin appointed Solomon Prentice as city treasurer and first bank president. In 1865, two brothers by the name of Barton started a grocery store on Superior Avenue called The Gilded Age Store which became one of Royal Oak's most successful businesses during its early years. In 1870, an act was passed authorizing incorporation as a town by order of the Michigan Legislature; this act created much controversy among local citizens because it allowed for only white males to be incorporators and vote on issues such as land use and street names (though black residents were eventually allowed to join). On April 12, 1870, incorporation occurred with 57 ballots cast (9 percent turnout) against 11 endorsements granted by the board of trustees; however, due to popular sentimentality at the time few changes were made to the town charter after incorporation without further vote(s). The original plat map still exists today displaying all 17 streets named after then-Mayor Godfrey Halliday: Main Street (later renamed Grandview Avenue), Ridge Road (now part of Ionia Parkway), Prospect Avenue (now Elmhurst Drive), Park Avenue (later renamed Highland Boulevard), Arlington Heights Boulevard (now Big Rapids Boulevard), Cass Corridor/Richmond Road/Kentwood Boulevard (formerly Woodward Avenue/Cass Corridor Boulevard). By 1900 there had been only four buildings erected within town limits - two churches and two stores - all but one being used for agricultural purposes orstorage rather than residential use. The City Beautiful movement swept across America during World War II while RoyalOak lay idly behind enemy lines; many residents refused to leave their homes if they could help it due to patriotism or fear that they would become targets if captured by Axis forces living inside Nazi Germany or Japan respectively - something that still occurs today despite more than 50 years since war ended peacefully in Asia! One local resident even managed to smuggle food into camp via his dog! An oral history project conducted over several months in early 2013 located 204 items relating directly or indirectly to wartime activity within RoyalOak including personal items, postcards sent home from battle areas such as Normandy and HollandtOWN Pennsylvania where soldiers serving under General Patton garrisoned during WWII lived & worked; additionally featured rare photos & memorabilia from various historical events throughout our community including those documented thru Oral History
