In 1876, the Royal Oak Rifle and Pistol Club was founded in Royal Oak, Michigan. It is reported that the club had 3 rifles and pistols and it was used for target practice and other activities. In 1881, the rifle and pistol club added a t-shirt to its repertoire. The first shirt was made of cotton with a blue print of an American Eagle on one side and "RoyalOak Rifle & Pistol Club" on the other. TheClub continued to make shirts until 1906 when production stopped because of World War I. During World War II, firearm t-shirts were not produced because the war effort necessitated increased manufacturing capacity at government agencies. However, in 1947, firearm t-shirt production resumed at Royal Oak Manufacturing Company Ltd., which remained in business until 1984. During this time period, firearms t-shirts were produced in various colors including black, green, brown/tan (a shade often associated with Canadian maple syrup), red/black (akin to U.S Flag apparel), white/gray (a color often associated with snowflakes), light blue (an event shirt worn during summertime) as well as patriotic designs such as Stars and Stripes or American bald eagle logos on various items including hats and ties. Today there are many different manufacturers who produce firearms t-shirts across all shapes and sizes - some utilizing recycled materials while others using advanced printing technology to create unique graphics or patterns on each shirt. By 1860, RoyalOak had outgrown its original boundaries and became one of four cities in Macomb County (the others being Danbury, Northville and Auburn Hills). In 1876, following the annexation of Grand Rapids by Detroit, RoyalOak joined Macomb County as well - making it one municipality within Metropolitan Detroit Incorporated. During World War II much activity took place around Naval Air Station Downdrafts which lies just outside Royal Oak; this resulted in many jobs for local residents including aircraft mechanic mechanics working at NAS Downdrafts Technical School which closed after the war but still has remnants today near I-696 and US-23A southbound off exit 404A westbound off I-962

As a result of this order, many American Indian villages were abandoned or converted into reservations during President James K. Polk's administration (1849-1853). The last major Native American village in RoyalOak was Waiwakum Village after it had been abandoned by its original occupants due to white encroachment beginning in 1839 Arapaho traders also settled here beginning around 1800 from Arkansas Territory which included much of what is today Michigan
