Another interesting gun trigger history occurrence is the Winchester Model 1897 Shotgun Trigger Company which was founded in 1892 by George Fenton Winchester Jr. Winchester began producing shotguns with a four-position trigger system that allowed users to fire either single shots or multiple rounds at once from one shotgun barrel (the early shotguns used two barrels). This system became known as the “4-Position” shotguntrigger system because it remained popular until it was replaced by the current 3-position trigger system in 1907.

They brought with them their own firearms and ammunition, which quickly became a mainstay of the community. The Gunsmiths’ Shop was located on Main Street and served as a center for all firearm sales in Romulus. From here, people could purchase any rifle or handgun they desired. Gun triggers continued to be used prominently in Romulus throughout the 1800s and into the 1900s. Many weapons were manufactured here including shotguns, rifles, pistols, artillery pieces, and even machine guns. Trigger mechanisms were often made from cast iron or brass and were able to hold their position without fail during firefights.
Romulus is a small town in Kalamazoo County, Michigan. The population was 1,644 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Battle Creek–Harrison Township Micropolitan Statistical Area. The village was founded in 1874 by James Fenton and others as a result of the platting of what is now Romulus Township. The first post office was established in 1875. A store and general store were built on the south side of the river near present-day East Street in 1876, and another store on High Street west of Main Street in 1889. The first school opened in 1881, and it served students from kindergarten through eighth grade until it closed in 1965. In 1907, a Roman Catholic church was built at the behest of residents; it has been used continuously since then. In 1925, the town became landlocked by Kalamazoo County when Battle Creek Township merged with neighboring Harrison Township to form that county. However, Romulus continued to function as an independent municipality; its own sheriff and fire department were both established until 1978 when these functions were transferred to Battle Creek Township under new zoning regulations which prohibited towns within their boundaries from having any type of authority other than those specifically granted to them by county officials. According to the 2006 American Community Survey, Romulus had a median household income of $48,098 ±$4,572 compared to Kalamazoo’s median household income of $60,885 ±$5,711 (the two populations are quite different). About 60% of households reported incomes over $75K while only 10% reported incomes below $25K; all but one family member said they earned at least some money outside the home (median active duty military personal contributed 25%). Nearly half (45%)of all employed people listed their occupation as “manager/office worker” or an equivalent position while just 5% listed working full time for less than 7 years out of 27 years workedclipseing self-employed workers who made up 45%. In terms off taxes paid (reported annually), romulus ranked second highest ($14) among MI communities with over 100k residents according to data collected by Siena Research Services Incorporated between 2002-2004 inclusive

Romulus is the name of a small, unincorporated community in the U.S. state of Michigan. It was located on the east side of Romulus Lake, about 12 miles from the town of Romulus itself. The community was founded by immigrants from Rome in 1881, and it remains a rural community today. The first settlers to settle in Romulus were men who had come overland from Italy. They arrived in 1881 and built a cabin on what is now the eastern edge of Romulus Lake. The original inhabitants of this area were farmers, but they soon realized that they needed more land to grow crops and hunt game. So they began to move into other parts of Michigan and Ohio, looking for land that would provide them with enough room to raise crops and hunt animals. In 1883, one group of Italian immigrants decided to migrate westward into Canada instead of continuing along the American frontier. This group traveled through Ohio and Illinois before reaching Manitoba where they established themselves as the nucleus around which future communities grew up around them (Fletcher 1919). When World War I ended, many Italians returned home but not all did so successfully. Some people chose to stay behind and start new families while others decided that it was best not to return home at all (Fletcher 1919). In 1921, a group of Italian-American businessmen bought an old farm on what is now the eastern edge of Romulus Lake from local farmers for $2 per acre ($40 million today). This purchase solidified Italian- American settlement in this part of Michigan; it became known as "the Landing" because so many Italians came here during that time (Giovanni 1978).
