The Riverview Rifle and Pistol Club is one of the oldest rifle and pistol clubs in Michigan. It was formed on January 8, 1892, in Riverview Township by a group of men who were interested in shooting handguns. The club has been meeting monthly ever since. In 1904, the club decided to start attending local matches with their rifles and pistols. At first, they just used local ranges but as time went on they realized that they could do better at tournaments where they would have a chance to win prizes. In 1907, the club decided to get their own range which became known as “The Spreader”. They won several tournaments over the years and started receiving awards from other gun organizations such as the NRA. In 1912, The Riverview Rifle and Pistol Club organized its first state tournament which was held at Grand Rapids Arsenal. They won all three divisions including the Open Class with a total of 20 guns! This made them one of only two clubs statewide to win an event that year. They also managed to place second in both classes at next year’s state tournament which took place at Lansing Arsenal! In 1916, The Riverview Rifle and Pistol Club moved into their present building which had been built previous to that point on land donated by Mrs. Fannie Kapp (the daughter of Jacob Kapp). When it opened, it was the largest rifle range in Michigan! They continued winning tournaments until 1934 when they lost out to East Lansing Rifle & Pistol Club in the final match for championships! Over subsequent years (1935-1941), RVPCC entered into various team competitions with other Michiganders affiliate organizations such as Saginaw Valley Gun Clubs (later renamed Saginaw Bay Gun Clubs) etc., eventually becoming champions every single year except for 1944 when East Lansing again topped them off!! Unfortunately during World War II most of their members enlisted so not much can be done about this fact..... However we did manage to collect some medals from various practices/tournaments held during that time!!!(Thanks To Dickie Lachance For His Info On That!) After World War II ended things slowly resumed back to what they were once like at RVPCC; doing county fairs, regional tournaments etc., always being successful even though membership decreased slightly due primarily}{to}{the}{problem}of{race}. Finally after more than fifty years things came full circle with another state championship victory by RVPCC back at Grand Rapids Arsenal this past fall!!!!! Keep up the good work gentlemen......

Riverview is a city in the U.S. state of Michigan. As of the 2010 census, the city population was 362, up from 311 at the 2000 census. The community was founded by Methodists and Baptists in 1859 as a small settlement on the Rouge River between Saginaw and Bay City. It grew rapidly after it became an incorporated city in 1872, thanks to its location near two major railroads and its access to navigable waterways. The growth of Riverview led to development of factories, mills, and other businesses along the Rouge River and its tributaries. In addition, riverfront properties were developed for residential use including seafood processing plants and warehouses that processed agricultural products such as corn, soybeans, dairy products, chicken eggs, flourishes) The current downtown area was built on land that once housed several factories and mill buildings dating back to 1872-1875. Today's downtown is home to several large commercial districts including the riverfront section which has many restaurants and bars along with a variety of high-end retail stores such as Macy’s department store (which opened in 1907), Sears Roebuck & Co., JCPenney Department Store (opened in 1912), Wegmans Grocery Stores (opened in 1924), Ford Motor Company’s Dearborn Assembly Plant (opened in 1927), Belle Isle Park (opened in 1937). Additionally there are many smaller shopping areas located throughout town including: North Side Street Mall - containing over 30 shops across 3 levels; Main Street - containing over 25 shops across 4 levels; Riverside Shopping Center - contains over 20 shops across 2 levels; Southside streets - contain 16 shops across 2 levels; Downtown Plaza - contains 10 stores on 6 floors

Riverview is a small town in the Grand Traverse County, Michigan area. The community was founded in 1849 by John and Sarah Wisniewski. The town was named after the river that flows through it, the Muskegon River. Riverview's population declined following World War II, but has since begun to increase again. It currently has a population of around 1,200 people. The Muskegon River forms much of Riverview's border and provides its primary source of water supply. The river also served as a key transportation artery for early settlers in this part of Michigan. In 1847, John Wisniewski built the first house on what is now Main Street in Riverview; this house still stands today. The Wisniewskis were instrumental in helping to develop the local economy and helpedto build many of Riverview's iconic landmarks, such as the clinic that sits on Main Street today and the library which was built adjacent to the schoolhouse on North Main Street in 1965. The Riverview area of Michigan was originally settled by Methodists in the early 1800s. The first Methodist church was built in 1814 on the banks of the Rouge River. In 1821, a second Methodist church was built on the same site. By 1830, there were over 20 Methodist churches in Riverview. In 1847, a group of Baptists organized their own church in Riverview. The first Baptist pastor was hired in 1849 and the first baptism took place that year. In 1860, a Presbyterian church was built in Riverview. The first minister to officiate at this church was Rev. James Hadden. In 1865, a group of Braddock Presbyterians organized their own church in Riverview. The first minister to officiate at this church was Rev. John Aikenbrooks. In 1870, a Catholic Church founded by Father Giovanni Battista Cullen became operational in Riverview after purchasing land from Methodist members who had abandoned it back East. Father Cullen served as its founding pastor until his death in 1886。 In 1907, an LDS chapel (later renamed “The Meadows Chapel”)was constructed near what is now downtown Detroit serving as the religious center for all religions within 10 miles of Detroit including Catholicism and Mormonism.. Reverend George Witte served as our chapel's founder and headmaster until his death in 1950.. In 1969-1970, we also added an Evangelical Lutheran/Church set up ministry called Holy Cross Lutheran which serves local population with groceries and other services
