A small grocery store operated as an independent business from 1923 until its closing in 1973; it had been run by Mrs. Lavinia McNamara since 1922 when she inherited it from her mother-in-law Msgr.'s Store which had been founded by her maternal grandmother Ann McNamara some years earlier as "Ann's Grocery." It became known as "Mrs.'s" because Mrs.(First Name) McNamara ran it until her death suddenly leaving no heirs apparent so that it passed through several hands before finally becoming property of the City of Riverview withan ordinance giving operation to Mayor(Last Name) Klinka following its opening day.. Thereafter (until 1977), Mrs.'s continued to operate with city sponsorship as "Riverview Grocery." Finally (on or about 1977), operations were taken over by First Ward Alderman(FirstName) Russo with full city management including purchasing power under State guidelines thereby ending any remaining private ownership/sponsorship arrangement between Mrs.'s & First Ward Alderman Russo.. Today, only storage space remains (landside) inside Mr.(SecondName)'s house (& there are no indications that anyone still operates 'Mrs.''s'). For historical purposes only.-Ed

Riverview is a small town in Muskegon County, Michigan, United States. The population was 1,814 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Grand Rapids–Muskegon–Oakland Metropolitan Statistical Area. Riverview is an agricultural community with a large open field system and several churches and schools. The town's namesake river, which flows through it, has been mentioned in local history since 1819 when it was called "Riverside" because of its location near two major rivers: the Muskegon and Great Lakes Rivers. In 1868, the name was changed to "Riverview" to coincide with its current spelling. At that time it consisted of only a few homes on the banks of the river. Today, Riverview boasts over 100 homes and businesses along its banks dating back to pioneer days. Initially settled by Germans who had come from east Germany during World War II, Riverview became an American city on July 12th 1959 when it ratified its first charter as a village under the leadership of Mayor Hahnemann and Village Clerk Pfisterhoffer. That same year saw construction begin on what would become River View's main square - which still stands today - as well as two small shopping centers (one opened in 1984) on parcels now belonging to other residents or used for agriculture or light industrial purposes (the former Township Services Building). Many new houses were built during this period including those located at 9 miles (16 km) north of town along I-94; these houses are now known as Northside Villages development. In 1995 voting took place for incorporation into Muskegon County but declined due to lack of support from both village leaders and residents; however incorporation did occur two years later on December 11th 1997 thanks to passage by then-Governor John Engler signed by then-Mayor Hahnemann without referendum having taken place previously due to objections from some quarters within Riverview over plans for an even larger housing development along I-94 just outside town limits! On January 7th 1998 unanimously adopting resolutions authorizing formation of a governing board for furtherance of village goals & objectives & setting forth procedures for implementation voted Mayor Hahnemann as president/CEO designate Gary Weisner chairperson & Michael Larkin vice chairperson effective immediately... While not without controversy many things have worked quite smoothly in recent years such as electric utility service being provided by PPL while all water needs are handled by Flint Hills Water; road paving efforts spearheaded by contractor Armstrong Brothers doing excellent work while property taxes remain low making this one very pleasant place to live! Riverview is a town in the Macomb County, Michigan, United States. The population was 1,717 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Detroit metropolitan area. The first settler in Riverview was Abram Dutton in 1834. Dutton homesteaded on what is now known as East Main Street and built a log cabin that still stands. The first post office in Riverview was established in 1836, and it served as the village's only stop until 1872 when it became a town. In 1870, John Fenton founded an ironworks in what is now Riverview and began manufacturing nails and other tools. By 1900, Fenton had also founded a grain elevator that shipped flour to several mills throughout the region. In 1916, Macomb County was formed from portions of Wayne and Oakland counties; Riverview became one of its seven villages within the county limits. During World War I, Riverview played an important role in supplying munitions for the war effort by producing paper products such as tents and flyers for military use. After hostilities ended, many of those responsible for providing munitions to the war effort were prosecuted or deported after they were caught with supplies they had acquired while fighting abroad

The Riverview area of Michigan was first settled by Native Americans in the 18th century. The first European to visit the area was French explorer and trader Jacques Marquette in 1697. In 1701, Russian fur traders visited the area and began trading with the natives. One of these traders, Ivan Tselenchuk, founded a small community called Fort Rouge on the left bank of the River Rouge just below where it flows into Lake Huron. The name "Riverview" was given to this community by Tselenchuk for its location at a bend in the river where he thought people would find it easiest to cross. In 1800, a group of British colonists named John McNaught purchased land near present-day Riverview from the native tribe known as the Potawatomi. This group built McNaught House as their outpost on what is now Park Avenue in RiverVIEW. By 1802, Englishman George Stephenson had begun construction of his canal system through this area and McNaught House became his headquarters during this construction project. In 1803, Stephenson's canal reached its final destination at Grand Rapids and McNaught House became grandstand for all events along its route including official ceremonies celebrating this accomplishment. The buildings that remain today within walking distance of each other are reminders of how important this site was during America's early days as a country.
