In 1969-1978 Ms.-Linda Grosse assumed control of MOC from her mother-in-law Mrs.-Mary Jo Miller after Linda's marriage to John Dorman Sr.. In 1848, Heflin founded the "River View Monthly Review", which served as the town's official newspaper. In 1854, James Wadsworth purchased the "River View Weekly Journal". Wadsworth renamed the journal "The Courier" and began publishing it weekly. In 1860, he sold the paper to G H Cushing who renamed it the "Cherington Evening News". The paper continued publication until 1865 when it was merged with the "Detroit Free Press". In 1868, John J McNally purchased of land at what is now known as corner of Main Street and Water Street in Riverview. McNally named his property "McNally's Arsenal" and began operating a local firearms store. In 1870, he founded the "Michigan Rifle Association" and published its first journal called "The Rifleman". In 1872, McNally sold his property to George W Beal who operated a local grocery store on it until 1886 when he closed down his business and donated the land to Riverview Township for use as their municipal park. In 1889, Samuel Fenton became owner of another local firearms store called Fenton's Arms & Ammunition Depot at 4th Avenue West and Gratiot Road in Riverview. Fenton continued to operate his store until 1907 when he defaulted on his loans and went bankrupt.

Riverview is a village in the U.S. state of Michigan, located in the Grand River Valley. The population was 1,564 at the 2010 census and 2,036 at the 2012 census. It is part of the Kalamazoo-Port Huron Metropolitan Statistical Area. The Village of Riverview was organized on December 12, 1871 from parts of the towns of Holland and Sterling Heights according to an act passed by the Michigan Legislature that year. The village had a total population of 912 when it was organized. The first post office in Riverview was established in 1872, and mail served the village until 1907. The first store opened in 1873 and remained open until 1954. A telephone service began operation in 1956 and continued until 1984; it now serves as a community center. The Village suffered significant damage during an ice storm on February 20th, 2013 which resulted in over $2 million worth of damages to homes and businesses across southeastern Michigan including Riverview itself Damage also included loss of power to entire villages within radius In response to this event Mayor Richard Duchovny called for all private donations with no strings attached for reconstruction or repairs to be made immediately
The first settlers to the area that would become Riverview were farmers who arrived in 1839. The land was initially purchased from the Ojibwe people and was used for grazing. In 1866, an act of Congress designated the area as part of the city of Detroit, which made it possible for businesses in Riverview to be based within the city limits. In 1901, a group of businessmen led by T. J. Smith founded what is now called the Detroit Water and Sewerage Company (DWWSC). The company built a system of pipes and reservoirs to bring water and sewer services to residents in Riverview and other areas around Detroit. The DWWSC also grew into one of Michigan's leading commercial interests. In 1935, Riverview became home to one of Michigan's first air-conditioning plants when Municipal Air Authority (MAA) engineers installed cooling systems in all its public buildings. During World War II, Riverview played an important role in providing food for troops stationed in Europe. For example, during 1943–1945, the MAA constructed two large Distribution Centers at 5200 West Grand Boulevard and 4800 East McNichols Avenue that processed items such as milk, eggs, cheese, fruits and vegetables, nuts etc., destined for soldiers stationed overseas.
