When it comes to handguns, there are many different types and models. One of the most common types of handguns is the magazine-fed pistol. Magazine-fed pistols were first introduced in Portage, Michigan in 1892. The first magazines for these pistols were made out of wood and could hold up to eight rounds. Today, magazine-fed pistols are still a popular choice among handgun owners in Portage because they can be easily reloaded without having to go through cumbersome steps like inserting cartridges into a chamber and pulling the trigger multiple times. Additionally, magazine-fed pistols are often more accurate than other pistol types because they have a longer range when firing single shots from close quarters. One of the earliest companies that manufactured magazines for handgun owners was Poffo Firearms Company. This company was founded by Italian immigrants Giovanni Poffo and his brother Ferdinando Poffo. In 1896, Giovanni Poffo started producing magazines for handguns in Portage using metalwork from his family’s business, Fortunato SA (Fortunato Sacco & Co.). The first Pistol Magazines manufactured by Giovanni Poffo were called “Pistols with 7 Rounds”. These firearms featured an 8 round magazine which could be inserted into the gun after removal of the frame cover. The frame cover also had two small slots on each side which allowed users to attach one or two rounds onto this magazine if desired (See Figure 1). The popularity of these guns led Giovanni Pofco to start manufacturing other types of magazines as well such as 10 rounders, 15 rounders and even 20 rounders! Eventually, he would rename his company Fortunato SA (Fortunato Sacco & Co.) and continue making Pistol Magazines until he ceased operations in 1915 (#1). After Giovanni Pofco stopped making Pistol Magazines, others began manufacturing similar products but under their own names such as Browning Manufacturing Company (#2) or Moore Firearms Corporation (#3).

Portage, Michigan is a city in the U.S. state of Michigan and is the county seat of Itasca County. The population was 27,827 as of the 2010 census. The city is part of the Grand Rapids–Mt. Pleasant, MI Metropolitan Statistical Area. The first Europeans to visit Portage were French traders in 1795. Jesuit missionaries established a mission there in 1816 and named it after Father Gabriel de Lorette, founder of their order in North America. The town developed around this mission until 1836 when it was abandoned due to flooding from the Huron River which had been diverted for irrigation purposes by settlers in nearby Battle Creek Township. In 1837, James Kapp sold 1,000 acres (500 ha) of landat what is now downtown Portage for $1 an acre (3 ha). Kapp built a small frame house on his property and called it "Kapp's Landing". After serving as a millinery store and post office during its early years, he turned his attention to farming and became one of the most successful farmers in town at that time. He also served on various local boards and committees over the years including being Mayor from 1912-1917 and1920-1924; he also served as treasurer from 1921-1925 After World War II ended, Portage experienced rapid growth with many new residents moving into the city during the postwar period because of improved transportation options than existed before Interstate 84 opened up across much of Michigan including Portage County . Many buildings on State Street date back to this period such as City Hall (1948), First National Bank Building (1950), American Legion Post No.(1969), United Auto Workers Local 401 Headquarters(1978), among others During this time period some key landmarks locals remember include: Midtown Market (now known as Joe's Pizza & Pasta), Kapp's Landing Warehouse/Store #2 (now home to Gable Chevrolet dealership), Jackson Park Community Center - now known as Renaissance Park District restaurant - which opened in 1951; Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company plant north of town which closed in 1984; Regal Cinemas - now home to Saginaw Valley Casino - on Wabash Avenue across from city limits opened in 1957; white picket fence surrounding city limits came about through efforts by then-Mayor John Ahern following decreased auto production at Goodyear starting around 1960s instrumental within today’s skyline view

Portage is a small town in the Kalamazoo County, Michigan area. The population was 1,471 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Lansing–East Lansing metropolitan area. The first Europeans to visit Portage were French traders and explorers in 1681. They named it "L'Islet", meaning "the island". It may have been from this name that the town got its current name, which means "the crossing" or "the point where two rivers join". A post office was established at Portage on December 10, 1836, and remained in operation until it was discontinued on May 6, 1907. In 1836, four men who had been abandoned by their families built a log cabin here and called it Fort Gratiot. They started a family that would live here for over 50 years: Captain James Gratiot and his wife Catherine (born c1810), their children John (born 1840), Helen (born 1846), Belle (born 1850), Augustus Gratiot (born 1861) and Annie Gratiot (born 1866). In 1863 Captain James's son Augustus married Anna Maria Kapp of Green Bay; they moved to Portage as their home became known. When they died there in 1895 their daughter Anna married Drury Wojciechowski of Milwaukee. Their granddaughter Bessie married Drury's son Harry Wojciechowski in 1951; he also ran one of the largest dairy operations in Michigan during that time. Captain James's sons John and Helen took up farming after their father's death and expanded what became known as the Gratiot Dairy empire into what is now about 85% of all milk produced in Michigan today! The entire family continued to farm until 1945 when John passed away leaving his widow Katherine with 4 farms including one now located near Grand Rapids MI - making her one of only 5 women everto own property within 25 miles of Detroit! In 1865 a new post office opened at Portage for Lapeer County; it continued operations until it was discontinued on October 15, 1903 due to low mail volume. The first postmaster was Samuel Haldeman Sr.. Three times between 1880-1890 an extra wagon pulled by horses stayed overnight at White Sands Lake so passengers could fish before continuing on Saturday morning! From 1893-1903 Lehigh Valley Railroad Depot served as Post Office because no other building could be found nearby! On July 14th 1905 JF Hutchins donated land to become Village Square which included three blocks west of Main Street between First Avenue & Second Avenue - becoming the firstVillage Square in America! One year later on November 10th 1906 village square was renamed after General George Armstrong Custer following his battle death at Little Big Horn Station just south of town along US Highway 31A.(It should be noted that unlike most villages Custer fought against Mexican forces not United States ones!) After General Custer’s death many people wanted to rename village square after him but no decision was made so insteadGeneral Hometown Square remains today !!
