The Pontiac Shooting Club was formed in 1934. The first meeting was held at the home of Mrs. Harry Wirth. A booklet entitled “Shooting at the club”, dated fall 1934, is still extant and contains a history of the shooting club from its beginning. In 1935, Mr. Fenton organized a session on target shooting at the local high school and invited members of the Pontiac Shooting Club to participate. This led to further meetings being held at various schools in town until finally a club-sponsored rifle match was organized by Mr. Fenton in 1937 which took place on October 10th at the old Masonic Temple (now known as Parkview Pavilion). In 1939, an agreement was made between Mr. Fenton and Local Lodge No 174 that would allow member’s of Local Lodge No 174 to present their rifles for inspection by other members of Pontiac Shooting Club when they checked out of their lodge meetings; this privilege would be continued until 1949 when it was rescinded due to financial difficulties experienced by Local Lodge No 174. It should be noted that prior to World War II most shooters practicing muzzleloader hunting were either self-taught or employed with locals who managed ranches or farms providing cover from potential targets while hunting deer or rabbits during open season outside legal game areas/limits where firearms were not allowed (i.e., white people only). After World War II started many citizens within Pontiac began owning automobiles so finding cover from potential targets became more difficult and dangerousene

In 1815, James Kapp founded Kapp & Company fur traders post on the east bank of the Detroit River and built a trading house there called The Hacienda which still stands today. In 1825, John Darnall founded Darnall & Company merchants post downstream on Grand River at what is now Clinton Township with buildings that still stand today including theOriginal White House (now Independence Hall).[3] In 1827, Samuel Inskeep moved his family from Rochester to Flint so they could startInskeep & Co., one of five companies organized by George Stephenson during his exploratory trip through Michigan in 1830,[4] which became General Electric Company just over two decades later when Stephenson sold his interest in Inskeep's company to GEICO for $13 million[5]. By 1840, Pontiac had about 100 residents.[6] The first store opened here - Jardine Brothers Store - by Elijah Jardine on October 11th 1840.[7][8][9][10] The community developed rapidly because it offered easy access to water power from nearby rapids and transportation via steamboats across the river.[11][12][13][14] The community began to prosper due to its location near important trade routes and new industrial plants being established along both sides of the river; mills such as Slocum Manufacturing Company (later Alcoa), Richards Produce Market Warehouse (now Eastern Market), Grosse Pointe Lumber Millsinery Works(now Decatur Lumber), Pape Manufacturing Machine Shop(later Wabash Coal Merchants Warehouse), Ford Motor Factory No. 1 (opened 1903)[15], Renault works,[16],the Mack Truck factory,[17],and many more; each providing jobs for locals and contributing importantly to Pontiac's growth over time. A few years after this rapid growth cameurred by railroads arriving into townspeople started purchasing homes elsewhere around their neighborhoods but traffic grew increasingly congested so General Motors set up an experimental production line called "Gone With The Wind" located at 3333 US-31st Street between Gratiot Avenue West and Cass Avenue North starting November 9th 1937 making Pontiac one of GM's major manufacturing centers until it closed down effective March 1st 1941 due to World War II military production quotas

Pontiac is a small city in the Mid-West, located about 25 miles south of Detroit. The population was 10,813 at the 2000 census. Pontiac is one of the only two cities in Michigan with a high school diploma or better than 90% of its students. Pontiac is also home to three colleges: Eastern Michigan University and Wayne State University, as well as Muskegon Community College. The city's history goes back to 1817 when General John Hull built a trading post on the banks of the River Rouge in what is now Pontiac Township. Hull named his post after his French father, Jean-Baptiste de La Pointe, Sieur de Pontiac. The first store in town was established by DeWitt and Company on July 15, 1818. In 1824, Washington County was organized and Pontiac became part of it; however, it continued to operate as an independent village until 1837 when it became part of Detroit Township under the jurisdiction of that county seat. During World War II, Pontiac played an important role in manufacturing military equipment for America's war effort; most notably, it produced tanks and artillery pieces for the United States Army during World War II. The plant closed during the 1970s but has been resurrected as a community center and learning center called "Pontiac Renaissance." In 1945, General Motors Corporation opened their new heavy automotive plants at Saginaw River Iron Works (now known as GM Dowling) and Flint Hills Assembly Plant (now known as Ford Motor Company). These plants were designed to mass produce Chevrolets while building other models such as Trucks and SUVs which would become icons throughout North America including Cadillac/Chrysler/Jeep etc., respectively - both plants remain active today thanks to Fiat Chrysler Automobiles' (FCA) ownership stake in them! Pontiac experienced its heyday between 1949-1957 with over 100 businesses employing over 4500 people making products ranging from tires to appliances! Unfortunately this era came to an end following FCA's acquisition by Chrysler Group plc.; however many local businesses have since reopened including Engine House Supply & Service which manufactured engines for many American automobile brands before closing down in 2007; Local Chevrolet Dealerships still sell Chevrolets today! It’s safe to say that Pontiac will continue being home to some great businesses through 2020 no matter who controls FCA!

Pontiac, Michigan was a small town in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan until it merged with Saginaw on January 1, 1998. However, after Pontiac's incorporation into Saginaw County on November 1, 2009, it experienced another surge in population as residents arrived to take advantage of new economic opportunities within the community. In 2013, Pontiac hosted its first professional baseball game when it played host to the Saginaw Valley Wings of the American Association affiliate Detroit Tigers. Today, Pontiac is an active community that enjoys a rich cultural heritage and vibrant local economy. It remains a popular destination for summertime events such as Jr.'s Days and Fourth of July celebrations as well as year-round festivities including its annual Pumpkinfest celebration which draws hundreds of participants from around Southeast Michigan each October.
