The Pontiac Gun Trigger Company was a firearms manufacturer in Pontiac, Michigan from the turn of the 20th century to the early 1960s. The company produced a variety of handguns and shotguns, including single-action revolvers (SAs) and actions for both percussion rifles and shotguns. The first gun trigger manufactured by the company was an 1896 model named the "Pontiac Pistol." This pistol featured a wooden trigger group with a leather hammer block that adjustable to allow for different firing speeds. The design served as the basis for most of the company's guns through World War II. In 1907, Pontiac introduced its first double-action revolver, dubbed the "Crescent." This weapon used a black powder revolver action with six rounds in each magazine. It was also one of only a few pistols ever made with an ejector arm that could be pulled down to release rounds missed by the shooter while shooting left-handed. During World War I, Pontiac became known as "the Arsenal of America" due to its production of artillery pieces and ammunition. In 1918, they introduced their first shotgun, called the "Pontiac Model 1892," which enjoyed great successdue to its lightweight construction and ease of use. A new version of this shotgun was released in 1931 called the "Pinehurst". This gun featured redesigned stock and receiver designs that made it more resistant to recoil than earlier models; along with this change, it gained notoriety as one of the most accurate shotguns available at that time. After World War II ended, Pontiac continued producing firearms such as shotguns and handguns under various names until its final product line in 1961: Starline Firearms Incorporated

By 1830, nearly all of present-day Pontiac had been created as part of Wickersham's new township growth pattern; additional settlements were founded by 1834 including East Bay (now Highland Park), which became an incorporated village in 1835; White Lake (now White Cloud), which became an unincorporated community in 1840; and West Bay (later Harbor Springs), which was organized as a village on December 4, 1850 by Order No., 1st squadron United States marines under Commodore George Dewey with assistance from then-Governor Cassius Mifflin. During Michigan's Phasellism period – starting about this time – many small towns throughout Michigan lost their status due to consolidation or absorption by larger communities within their respective counties or states; however, Pontiac emerged relatively unscathed despite being located primarily within Wayne County acrossriver from Detroit until its incorporation into Oakland County in 1886 following the opening of that county's first courthouse complex on Woodward Avenue just north of downtown Detroit – well before most other areas withinOaklandCountyhadcometo be developed for human habitation or commercial enterprises beyond their original farming/ ranching activities only 15 years prior! During Prohibition through 1933 ($9 million worth total value seized by prohibition agents during that five year span), Pontiac functioned as both a center for local alcohol production ($5 million worth seizures) and also served as headquarters for federal law enforcement operations involved with liquor smuggling during that period ($2 million worth total value seized). In 1934–35 $1 million were paid out in damages awarded against 24 businesses licensed herein since prohibition began! On October 16th 1935 local citizens successfully recalled Mayor Mackie from office over his failure to properly fund public works projects related thereto such as streetlights etc.; subsequent investigations revealed Mayor Mackie had received bribes totaling $225 from members of his political dynasty responsible for those streetlights projects! After serving three months imprisonment not long before his recall election victory on November 3rd 1936 Pontiac experienced its first tornado outbreak during that year timeframe with one tornado damage report occurring within 0.75 miles (1 kilometer) northwest of downtownPontiaconceivedoneoftornadolightningsharproundlightningimpactorduringthatmonth!).
