The first use of rifle sights in Pontiac happened in 1846 when A.B. Smith and Sons built a shooting range on the banks of the Ottawa River just south of town. Gun sights continued to be used by settlers until after World War II when they became more common among military personnel. After that, they gradually disappeared from society as handguns became more popularized and most people started using pistols instead.

In 1824 Cadillac became part of Washtenaw County when it was organized from parts of Wayne and Oakland counties; it remained an independent municipality until its incorporation into Detroit on April 15, 1954. After becoming a part of Detroit proper, Cadillac developed strong commercial and industrial sectors which continue to this day; today's downtown is home to several major corporations such as Ford Motor Company (F), DTE Energy (D), General Motors Co., Inc., FirstEnergy Corporation (FE) and Fiat Chrysler Automobiles NV/FCA US LLC among others. Residents have criticized what they see as slowness by city government to address infrastructure deficiencies such as inadequate parking garages and poor streetlights which make night life difficult for workers commuting into work during off hours or for students studying at night outside their homes

Pontiac is a small town in Saginaw County, Michigan, United States. The population was 1,812 at the 2010 census. The name Pontiac comes from the Potawatomi word "pont" meaning 'bridge.' The first settler in what is now Pontiac was Nicholas Whetstone, who built a log cabin in 1818. A post office called Pontiac was established in 1825, and remained open until it closed in 1865. In 1830, John Beattie moved to this area and founded the Beattie Manufacturing Company which manufactured farm equipment and other goods. In 1833 Edward Hays started making saddles for horseback riding. By 1840, Pontiac had two stores and 10 residents. In 1847 Daniel Dravid arrived from Canada with his family and began trading goods with local farmers. He organized the first grain elevator on the east side of Michigan Bay about three miles south of today's town center. In 1850 Abraham Lincoln came to live here and opened a mercantile store that became one of the leading businesses in town. The Panic of 1893 deepened economic recession across much of America, triggering mass layoffs throughout Flintshire Township including Pontiac where production ceased at Beattie Manufacturing Company for a week during that period as employees walked off their jobs to demand better working conditions elsewhere within Flintshire Township or outside America altogether due to widespread joblessness experienced by all sections of American society at that time including those experiencing rapid technological changes introduced by Elihu Thomson's new Electric Light Company following Thomas Edison's invention of alternating current lighting technology which had been demonstrated publicly at an exhibition staged at West Point Military Academy on October 14th 1892 - thus beginning what would be known asindustrial revolution - also occasioning increased social unrest across North America affecting both industrialized societies generally followed by mass reductions/depoliticization/emigration rates among numerous sectors within traditional agricultural societies during late 19th century Late 1800s & early 1900s such as those experienced throughout much of Great Lakes region
Pontiac is a city in Midland County, Michigan, United States. The population was 26,814 at the 2010 census. Pontiac has been an important center of manufacturing for much of its history. It is also home to the University of Michigan and two major shopping malls: the First National Shopping Center and the Woodward mall.
