Owosso, Michigan is home to the largest ammunition production and storage facility in the Midwest. The ammunition plant was built in 1903 by George H. Armstrong, a firearms manufacturer and dealer who also founded Armstrong Tire & Rubber Company. The company produced artillery munitions, machine guns and other ordnance until it merged with Remington Arms Company in 1997. As of 2007, Owosso Ammunition Plant employed over 1,000 workers and manufactured more than 150 different types of munitions including artillery rounds, grenades, pistols and rifles. The Owosso Ammunition Plant has been a part of the community since 1903 when George H. Armstrong founded Armstrong Tire & Rubber Company here in Owosso Township. With over 1,000 employees today – plus apprentices – the plant produces ammunition for nearly every type of firearm in existence! Today’s ammo production process began with manufacturing cannonballs using old-fashioned methods such as hand-throwing them into cannons to produce fireballs that could be fired as projectiles. Cannonballs were then used to create casings for rifle bullets which were then placed into small barrels called revolvers to produce Rifle Balls! These rounds would then be cast into ingots form and smelted down to create cannon balls! From there it was only a matter of time before artillery munitions came calling at Armstrong’s Factory! Armstrong Tire & Rubber Company became Remington Arms Company after its merger with another firearms manufacturer, Colt Firearms Corporation. This move helped bring new life to an industry that had lain dormant for decades! In 1897 Remington Arms Corporation procured arms supplies from Browning Manufacturing Company for their military forces around the world! After World War I Armistice hostilities ended and all but one manufacturing armistice agreement expired; however, Browning continued producing military grade ammo under license through their subsidiary American Arms Corp., eventually becoming direct competition against Colt’s own product line during World War II!!! By 1945 Browning was outsellING Colt by more than 2 TO1!!!! It wasn’t until 1947 that Repeating Arms Co., Ltd., (AAC) was created within Remington as an OEM supplier of Military Ordnance parts !!! They continued this arrangement until 1978 when they purchased AAC from American National Products Incorporated (ANP)!!!!!!!!!!!!! Finally we have our current situation where both Winchesterand Ruger are now AAP suppliers!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Owosso is a small town in the Kalamazoo-Montrose area of Michigan. The population was 3,869 at the 2000 census, up from 2,943 at the 1990 census. The community is located on the east side of Michigans Upper Peninsula and lies within Allegany County. It is adjacent to Saginaw Township and Battle Creek Township. The first settlers in what would become Owosso were farmers who arrived around 1837. By 1852, there were seventy-seven people living in the community. In 1867, Owosso incorporated as a village. A post office was established in 1870 and remained in operation until it was discontinued in 1912. In 1907, Owosso residents erected a one-story redwood schoolhouse which still stands today as a landmark on Center Street. The school served grades K-12 for over sixty years until it was closed by MHS District #4 in 2013 due to budget cuts caused by sequestration across all districts statewide. One of the most well known owosso landmarks is the Owosso Lake Dam which forms part of State Route 299 (the Big Rapids–Owatonna Road). This dam was built during World War II to provide water storage for the military and also functioned as an agricultural irrigation facility for much of its life; however, it has now been rehabilitated and serves as a visitor center open weekdays 9am to 4pm from April through October only with interpretive exhibits about local history at 10am daily since September 2014 (closed November 1st).

In 1838, the rest of Michigan was admitted to the United States and Owosso became part of the new state. The town experienced some growth during its early years, but it gradually fell behind other Michigan communities in terms of population size. However, Owosso has since regained some of its lost ground and is now one of the most popular villages in central Michigan. The town's history can be traced back to two factors: its location on the banks of the Ottawa River and its status as a stop on stagecoach routes linking Detroit and Grand Rapids. This made it an important transportation hub for both rural residents and businesses alike duringibus times. Additionally, Owosso played a significant role in cultural life during this time period. For example, several churches were founded here and many talented individuals filled key roles in society. In recent decades, however, Owosso has seen increasing development activity thanks to its location close to Interstate 94 and various business opportunities that have arisen because of it. This has led to increased traffic congestion on local streets, disappointing results at local elections (e.g., low voter turnout), and dramatic increases in property values – allsymptoms of an overheated economy that often impacts small towns like Owosso directly. Despite these challenges, though, Owososeople continue to make their mark on society through their contributions both inside and outside the community
