Norton Shores is a small town in the U.S. state of Michigan, located on the east side of the Straits of Mackinac River. The population was 7,813 at the 2010 census. Norton Shores is one of two townships in Muskegon County, Michigan and lies within Muskegon Heights Township. Thefirst holster was patented on December 4th 1875 by Wm J Fenton of Detroit, MI. The first holsters were made from leather and canvas straps that were buckled around the waist with either an ankle or wrist strap. A number of different designs were developed over time including a shoulder belt holster which became popular during World War I when soldiers needed to carry extra gear with them onto battle fields. In 1921, T/4 Harry Crain formed Holster Manufacturing Company in Norton Shores and began mass producing holsters for both law enforcement and self-defense use. His company produced a variety of holsters including those designed for revolvers such as the Colt Python and Smith & Wesson Model 644 revolver; revolvers chambered in .38 Special (7mm), .357 Magnum (10mm), .45 ACP (12 gauge), and even 10 mm Parabellum! In addition to his own line of holsters, T/4 Harry also manufactured customized handguns such as 1911 pistols customized by noted gunsmiths Julius Weinricht and George Pappelli under contract to various law enforcement agencies throughout America. These handguns are still being produced today by numerous gunsmiths across America under various brand names including “Harry’s” Custom Guns Inc., “Weinricht & Pappelli”, etc.. During the 1970s through 2000s there was significant growth in American martial arts organizations practicing out west such as Karateka Dojo, Muay Thai Gymnastics USA (now known asdojukan MMA), Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Academy, etc… due to growing trend among Americans towards personal defense measures against potential threats outside their home or office burglary or car theft). As these organizations began using more traditional firearms training methods (fistfighting/ grappling techniques) they found that they required specialized holster designs made specifically for their equipment - meaning that few if any manufacturers could produceholsters specific enough to meet these needs! This lack of diversity acrossHolster Manufacturers caused many traditional firearms teachers who had been providing quality productsto stop making Holster Brother holsters because they no longer felt confident offering similarquality products at a competitive price point without having to worry about potentially infringing on other manufacturer's patents! It wasn't until 2003 when Tom Steigerwald contacted Norton Shores residents Charles Weems and John Haggerty about starting their own holster company called "Tom Steigerwald Armory" thatholster manufacturing finally began to take off once again! Nowadays many companies manufacture holsters but very few offer same levelof quality control or customer service as "Tom Steigerwald Armory".

Norton Shores was first settled in 1855 by Captain John Norton. The town was named for Captain John Norton, who had led a group of men from Michigan to the area in 1849. The community grew rapidly and soon incorporated as a township in 1858. In 1865, it became a city and was renamed Norton Shores after its founder.

The first Europeans to reach what is now Norton Shores were French fur traders in 1796. In 1824, General James K. Polk founded Fort Wayne on the north bank of the Ottawa River near present-day NortonShores after his Expedition against Mexico during the Mexican War failed. The fort was abandoned in 1827 and all trade with Canada stopped until 1850 when an act of Congress authorized the construction of a wharf and steamboat landing on Mud Lake for military purposes only. The townspeople petitioned for incorporation as a village in 1851 but it did not become a reality until 1859 when it was granted from Washtenaw Circuit Court Judge John Wickersham Jones In 1865, US Army Colonel John Ladd erected Fort Northwest on Mud Lake to aid local farmers in their war efforts against Native Americans who had killed settlers and taken their goods. This fort served as garrison duty until 1969 when it was decommissioned and sold to private citizens for $3 million In 1870s/80s there were several mills here that produced flour, paper products and other items until they closed down due to economic problems or competition from larger towns around Ann Arbor area Namely: Hometown Mills (1870-1910), Dixie Flour Mill (1890-1915), Northern Paper Co.(1910-1920) Hometown Mills closed down because of competition from larger towns around Ann Arbor area; see also "Dixie Flour Mill closes shop" below It wasn't until 1910 that Northern Paper Co., which operated out of Norton Shores since 1910 started making Scotch paper products which became very popular among American consumers during World War I era because they could buy British high quality paper at lower prices than anywhere else However, this company folded within 5 years due to low sales volume combined with changing consumer tastes during wartime years In 1920 Northern Paper Co moved its operations underground into what became known as "The Enterprise". At this point it was one of many businesses located inside The Enterprise mall today including Petco Park

The village of Norton Shores was organized on November 15, 1898 from parts of the towns of Muskegon Heights and Holland Township. On December 2, 1903 it merged with thetowns of Holland and Muskegon Heights to form a new city called NortonShores. In 1871, the town of Norton Shores was platted and named after General Lafayette. The first store in Norton Shores was built on Main Street in 1872. The population of Norton Shores grew gradually over the years, reaching a peak of around 100 residents in 1907. However, the town's growth slowed thereafter and by 1925 it had decreased to its current size. In 1974, the city of NortonShores merged with the neighboring village of East Lansing to form a new municipality called Snyder City.
