One of the most popular exhibits at the Gun Sling Museum is “The Niles Arsenal: A Century of Firearms and Ammunition”. This exhibit tells the story of how firearms have been used in America for over a century. In addition to displays on guns, ammo and shooting devices, the Gun Sling Museum also has a collection of toy weapons from throughout American history. Some of these toys were made by local manufacturers or were donated by individuals. The toy weapons are often interesting because they show how gun culture has changed over time.

A crossbow sling is made from a long, thin piece of cloth or leather that is slipped over the bowstring and then closed by either pulling it tight or slipping it underneath. The crossbow user then swings their arm around like a pendulum and pulls the fabric/leather around their shoulder to hurl the arrows. The main advantage of using a crossbow sling is that it allows for more accurate shots because you can control how far your arm extends into the air. Niles is a city in Macomb County, Michigan, United States. The population was 487 at the 2010 census. Niles is home to the Niles Rifle and Pistol Club, which has been operating since 1871. The club has won several awards including being named "Best NRA Outdoor Shooting Event" three times and was recipient of the prestigious "Goodyear Award" for excellence in outdoor shooting in 2007.
Niles is a city in the U.S. state of Michigan, and the county seat of Lapeer County. The population was 20,633 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Detroit-Warren-Dearborn Metropolitan Statistical Area. The name Niles originated from an Ottawa River settlement called Nile Township (now Muskegon Heights), which was located on the east side of Niles Creek in 1814. The creek's present course is due south to M-I-L-D-Ytown and north to Dearborn Heights; its name has been applied to both townships and counties since then. In 1816, Nathan Stephenson, a Quaker resident and mill owner in nearby Hamtramck Township, proposed that the town be named for him—Nile being his shortened version of "Nathan". The first settler in what became Niles was George Stephenson, who arrived from England in 1817 with his family and built a sawmill on the banks of the river near present day Collingwood Boulevard and State Street. In 1830, John Elder bought Stephenson's mill site and established an gristmill there that still operates as a commercial enterprise. Reverend Solomon Halkett organized a Methodist church in Niles in 1838; it remains one of the largest churches in central Michigan today. After Indian Removal efforts failed during the 1840s through 1850s due to difficulties with obtaining land east of Lake Superior for white settlers, hostility toward whites began to grow among some Native Americans living east of this borderland—particularly those living along what is now US–Canada Border Road 6 (later US–Canadian Border Highway 9). A group led by Captain George Eisenschmidt invaded Canadian territory northeast of Sault Ste Marie on July 24, 1851 (the so-called Battle Of Blackwater Rapids), resulting in about 30 Native American deaths; this event helped spur development along what is now I‑95 corridor northwestward into Canada as many Canadians desired access to resources such as coal mines within U.[1] In 1861 when Michigan seceded from Ohio,[2] Territorial Governor James Wirtz proposed creating Lapeer County out of parts of Kalamazoo County including Muskegon Heights and other villages situated on or near Shiawassee River between Mackinac Island (now Mackinac Island National Park) on the north shoreline and Big Rapids across Bass Strait on Lake Huron (now Sayre Island): these proposals were accepted by Wirtz but not implemented because he died before he could take action against secessionists within Ohio's government following disputed elections held earlier that year which returned three members each to Congress instead of four Senators needed under Union Statute: all three new members were Democrats appointed by President James Buchanan who had taken office shortly after Ohio's secession referendum results were announced[3][4]. Some of the more common types include the Weaver's knot or spread shotgun sling, a bungie (a type of webbing) shotgun sling, and a bean bag rifle sling. Niles, Michigan is a small town located in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. The population was 3,591 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Muskegon Heights Township. Niles began as a lumber town and has since become an important agricultural center with a wide variety of crops and livestock. The community takes its name from Major General Nathanial Niles, who fought in the Battle of Lake Erie in 1758. In 1892, Niles had its first professional baseball team when the Muskegon Heights Americans joined the Great Lakes League. From 1903-1906, Niles also fielded a football team that played in the Mid-American Conference (MAC). In 1912, Niles became home to America's first soccer team when it relocated from Cleveland to join the American Soccer League (ASL). The team played until 1954 before folding due to lack of support. In 1932, during World War II, local farmers donated land to be used as airfields for military purposes and founded Grand Valley Air Force Base which would later become Grand Rapids Air National Guard Base. As time passed and more people moved into Niles, some shops closed or were sold off while others survived by keeping their operations open thanks to donations from friends and family members. One such business that continued operations after moving away from its original location was Nile's Hardware which still exists today on Main Street just east of State Road 725A. Today, there are many businesses in Niles that have been around for years or have been brought back by newer entrepreneurs looking to keep their businesses running strong over time despite various challenges encountered along the way like hurricanes or other natural disasters. Some examples include: Wellmark Pharmacy which has been operating since 1921; Joe's Pizza which opened its doors in 1956; Stroud Cycles where Cycle shop owner Bob Stroud started his business in 1984; KFC - which opened its doors on Main Street in 1957; Pizzazz Pizza -which reopened on Broadview Avenue just east of state road 780E in 2006 after being closed during renovations for several years; Sonic Drive-in -which reopened on North College Avenue adjacent to Interstate 94 south of exit 169A shortly after being shut down during a construction project; Home Depot -which opened its doors on East Water Street just north of I-94 near milepost 479 soon after becoming one of only two stores open within 1 mile radius following Hurricane Ivan; Mohawk Brewing Company -whichopened its doors on South Main Street just west of I-94 about 2 miles northward from Interstate 95 immediately following Superstorm Sandy as well as another Mohawk Brewery store opening soon afterwards across I-96 about 10 miles northeast from downtown Muskegon Heights making it one big brewing company with multiple locations throughout Greater Lansing area! These are only a few examples out there but it truly does show how diverse and thriving our local economy can be when given enough effort!
The town of Niles, Michigan was founded in 1837 by John Niles. The first post office was established in Niles in 1840. The town grew rapidly and by 1872 it had a population of over 1,500 people. In the 1880s, many businesses were established in Niles such as the Masonic Lodge and the Northern Michigan Savings Bank. In 1907, the Northwestern Railroad reached Niles and made it an important transportation hub for the surrounding area.
