At that time, a man named David Blackwood started manufacturing and selling targets at his shop on the corner of Elm Street and Main Street. The targets were initially made from wood, but over time they began to be made out of metal. In 1904, Blackwood passed away, but his son continued manufacturing and selling targets until 1951.
New Baltimore is a town located in the Western Michigan University District of Macomb County, Michigan. population was 9,898 at the 2010 census. The town is bordered by Saginaw Township to the south, Grand Rapids Township to the east, and River Rouge Township to the north. The first mention of New Baltimore can be found in 1810 when Pierre Beausoleil listed a trading post called "New Baltimore" on his map of Upper Peninsula country. Although not named after New York City or any other city in that area at that time, this may have been based on its location on an important trade route between these two cities. In 1821, Nicholas Negin bought land in what is now New Baltimore from John Horseshoe and set about building a mill there. This mill became one of the most important mills in Macomb County and continued operation until it burned down in 1866. The first school in New Baltimore was built in 1827 by James Cady and taught grades 1-6. It was replaced by a schoolhouse which still stands today and serves as a home for many local residents including historical figures such as General George Armstrong Custer and author Ambrose Bierce. In 1830, Drury School moved from Saginaw to become New Baltimore's second school with grades 7-12 being established there also soon afterwards however it too closed due to financial difficulties around 1840 (it reopened under new management several years later). On October 25th 1860, Mayor Howell announced construction of the current Macomb County Courthouse starting immediately with grand opening planned for November 15th 1861 but this never happened because of disagreements over funding among various governmental entities including county commissioners etc... The old courthouse sat unused until it was donated to MACOMB COUNTY MUNICIPAL RADIO COOPERATIVE (MACOMB COUNTY COMMUNITY RADIO) FOR USE AS A PUBLIC LIBRARY IN 1991 AND CONTAINING OVER 125 TITLES INCLUDING NEW BALTIMORE HISTORICAL MAGAZINE & RECORDER JULY 1961 - DECEMBER 1975 In 1930 Homer Wolda purchased property adjacent to present day US 41st Street and State Route 10 East for development into an Agricultural field known as “The Belt” which eventually became home for numerous small businesses such as grocery stores; fruit orchards; chicken coops; auto parts store etc.. This area served as an early model housing development with many homes still standing today past their 100th anniversary! After World War II much farmland within sight of US 41st Street was developed intoMacomb County Community College – then known simply as MACOMB COUNTY COLLEGE – making NewBaltimore one of only a few townships within our jurisdiction actually having educational institutions! Today nearly all businesses are tucked away behind high rises or along side busy highways ensuring access yet preserving old architecture while creating modern conveniences likewalkable streetscapes! There are now plans underway for significant renovation/updates totaling more than $40M over 5 years both inside & outside the existing buildings resulting in even more incredible community character while maintaining much original content! Lastly we must note that despite all this progress & progressivism Garden City…the new center where Main Street intersects Ionia Avenue has just recently opened up providing employment opportunities for locals & tourists alike!!!

In recent years, much attention has been given to NewBaltimore's history due to its significantrole inAuto industry during the 1930s and 1940s when production increased significantly at Plymouth Motors Corporation which is now part of Fiat Chrysler Automobiles NV . However, much overlooked are other aspects of our history such as our involvement with local education which continues today through Our Lady Of Perpetual Help Elementary School
