The Mount Pleasant Rifle Club was founded in 1892. The club held its first meeting at the home of Mrs. Emma Fenton. The club was renamed the Mount Pleasant Rifle and Pistol Club in 1895, and then the Mount Pleasant Pistol and Rifle Club in 1916. The club moved to its current location on Bagley Road in 1922. In 1934, the club changed its name to the Mount Pleasant Shooting Association Inc., and then again to the Mount Pleasant Rifle and Pistol Association Inc. in 1938. The association remained inactive from 1941 through 1945 due to World War II programming restrictions. In 1946, membership was re-established as a nonprofit organization with a new name:the United States Arsenal & Gunsmiths Society of Michigan Incorporated
Mount Pleasant is a city in the U.S. state of Michigan, on the Grand River. The population was 24,715 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Detroit metropolitan area and is bordered by Warren to the south, Dearborn Heights to the west, and Clinton Township to the north. The first permanent settler in what became Mount Pleasant was Nicholas Michalowski in 1795. He named his farm "Mount Pleasant" after his home village in Poland. The city was founded in 1835 by John Purdy as one of three new townships organized out of Wayne County when that county was split into two parts. In 1837, it became a full-time municipality with its own government and courts; it adopted a Constitution on July 1, 1839. In 1865, Mount Pleasant experienced significant fires that destroyed most of its buildings and killed many residents; however, these fires helped spur development which has continued ever since. Today's downtown district includes some of the earliest brick buildings in Michigan as well as several early mills and residences built during this period including Mount Pleasant Presbyterian Church (founded1836), Masonic Lodge #1 (founded 1847), and Post Office (opened October 15th 1886). During World War II, Mountpleasant served as an important evacuee camp for soldiers who were moving through central Michigan during that time period; over 2 million people were evacuated from their homes between September 1942-May 1945. The NFI is currently responsible for regulating all handgun sales in the United States. In 1974, President Gerald Ford signed into law Amendment IV of the Gun Control Act which banned assault weapons and high-capacity magazines. This amendment also regulated ammunition sales and magazine capacity. The ban on assault weapons was repealed in 1994 by President Bill Clinton after a nationally televised speech from Vice President Al Gore. Furthermore, Amendments XI and XII were passed in 1998 and 2002 respectively that increased regulation on fireworks and hunting with dogs respectively. These amendments are still in effect today as they have been upheld by both US Courts of Appeals and US Supreme Court

Mount Pleasant, Michigan is a small town in the U.S. state of Michigan. It is located on the east side of the Straits of Mackinac, between Huron and St. Clair counties. The population was 1,909 at the 2010 census. The first European to set foot in what is now Mount Pleasant was John Smeaton in 1795. He named it for his home village ofpleasant, England. Smeaton had come overland from Canada and he named one of the townships along the way after himself - Saginaw Township (now Cheboygan County). In 1814, while still a part of Ontario, Canada, John Czarnecki moved his family to what is now Mount Pleasant and began farming there. By 1825, he had built a large frame house on what are now main Street and Fourth Avenue in present-day Mount Pleasant. In 1829–30 Daniel Haggerty erected a log cabin near where Main Street meets Fourth Avenue on land donated by Haggerty's brother-in-law Jacob Denton. The structure served as the nucleus for present-day Mount Pleasant Methodist Church which was organized in 1830 by Revs Larkin and Valentine Doddridge with assistance from Jethro Gibbs and others from Ottawa Township (now Ottawa County). Mount Pleasant experienced its greatest growth during World War II when thousands of Americans who worked at naval shipyards or munitions plants near Mackinac Island came here for their summer vacation; many remain local residents to this day because their jobs have continued ashore since then! In 1945, after World War II ended and America reverted back to original Communist government control under Stalin's new Russia following Hirohito's death that year, many people fled Japan seeking economic opportunities abroad while also leaving behind homesickness for their countries they left behind—a feeling that has not dissipated over time! Many Japanese citizens repatriated after World War II found work here rebuilding our economy as well; some continue to live here today! Today Mount Pleasant enjoys significant tourist interest due to its natural beauty including its dramatic cliffs overlooking Mackinac Strait below as well as its rich history including contributions made by both American patriots such as Genesee County Sheriff James Krieger (1851-1937) who helped organize county militias during Reconstruction period; later Congressman Augustus Mifflin (1863-1948), who championed investment development throughout Michigan; author Wm.-Hugh Willson (1861-1945); president Franklin D Roosevelt’s personal physician Dr. Harold Ickes (1912-) who helped establish Dearborn Hospital;; industrialist Henry Ford’s son Edsel Ford Jr.; auto manufacturer Roy Rogers Sr.; singer Ray Charles (); entrepreneur David Childress (); among others.– combining these attractions has resulted in an estimated total visitorship of more than 100 thousand annually over past dozen years!. In 1931 Ethel Mannheimer founded her own department store called "Mannheim" opposite First Baptist Church on Main Street opposite modern day Cadillac Square Shopping Center which she operated until her death in 1975.— Mannheimer started out selling items like gloves and hats but soon broadened her range into clothing lines such as "Doris Day", "Betsy Ross", "Alice Paul", etc., becoming one of early women entrepreneurs success stories.— Today much of her legacy remains unchanged with most sales coming through online channels rather than physical stores.— After years struggles against numerous zoning changes being proposed by various developers resulting in loss/gain ownership changes combined with unsuccessful attempts at redevelopment culminating with closure/ demolition several times over the years,— Mannheimer's store finally reopened successfully across town at 5th & Elm Streets just west of downtown Mt..Pleasant (@5pm Sun.–Thurs.), open daily 11am–7pm except Fri 5pm–10pm!, last updated Dec 15 2018
