In 1916, the company moved to its current location and began producing gun lubricants commercially. The Heineman family continued to operate the business until their deaths in 1978 and 1984.

In 1937,, Wm Aiken bought Morse's hardware store outright . Aiken served as Mayor from 1941-1945 and 1951-1955 while also holding various other offices including Superintendent of Schools 1945-1951 ( concurrently with his mayoral term starting) Prior to becoming mayor he had been First Vice President (1941-1945), Secretary (1946), Treasurer (1949) & Director Public Buildings 1940-1941 Additionally during his time as mayor he served on various city councils including Streets & Roads Committee etc .. After serving one term as mayor Aiken became an assistant supervisor with the Michigan State Police where he stayed until 1980 When he retired From State Police
