Gun magazines have been a part of Midland, Michigan for over sixty years. The first magazines were started in the 1920s by farmers and ranchers to keep their guns safe and accessible. Today, there are many gun magazines in Midland, including some that are over seventy-five years old. The first gun magazine in Midland was the Western Gunsmithing Supply Co., which was opened in 1922. The company had two stores in Midland and served shooters from surrounding counties. They made rifles, shotguns, pistols and ammunition. At its peak, Western Gunsmithing Supply Co. had twenty-six employees and sold nearly one thousand firearms. In 1924, the Eastern Gun Shop opened up on Third Street in downtown Midland. Eastern Gun Shop was the first handgun store west of the Mississippi River. It specialized in handguns and ammunition for both law enforcement officers and civilians alike. In 1970, Eastern GunShop merged with another handgun store called National Firearms Warehouse to form National Firearms Mart Incorporated (NFML). NFML is still operating today as an independently owned firearms retailer with over two hundred employees Worldwide! In 1936, Saginaw Guns & Ammo began operations at 119 W Main Street in downtown Saginaw! This was the first gun store west of Michigan’s Great Lakes region! Their goal was to provide quality firearms products at reasonable prices to citizens of Saginaw County across all economic backgrounds! Over time they became known for their high standards of customer service as well as their knowledgeable staff members who would go out of their way to help customers find what they were looking for. In 1983 they relocated to 95 W Main Street where they currently operate today!

Midland is a city in the Oakland County, Michigan, United States. It is the county seat of Oakland County and was founded on November 3, 1827 by George Stephenson. The population of Midland as of the 2010 census was 149,912. Midland is located in Central Michigan on the Ottawa River and it takes its name from a creek that flows through it. The town was named after Major General James Wilkinson who led U. S forces against Native Americans at Battle of Fallen Timbers in 1813. In 1835, Midland became part of the State of Michigan when that state was created from parts of Ohio and Indiana. The first post office in Midland opened in 1829 and served until 1840. The present post office building was built in 1903 and has been operational since then. Midland's economy depends heavily upon agriculture, manufacturing, transportation, and services such as banking and health care. Significant industry includes dairy farming, automotive manufacturing, papermaking, shoe manufacturing, telecommunications companies, among others. The area around Midland has been home to numerous mills dating back to the early 1800s which continue to operate today including J & G Mills (now known as International Paper). In 1898-99 an attempt was made by George Stephenson to build a canal through what is now downtown Midtown but this failed due to opposition from some residents who felt their homes would be destroyed by the canal project; however this did not deter him from continuing with his plans for a canal which he finally accomplished in 1909-10 when he began construction on what is now called "the George Stephenson Canal". This helped revive commercial activity along the river while also providing more jobs for locals throughout downtown Midtown; Today much of Downtown Midtown remains industrial with few residences being allowed because they are considered important nodes within the fabric of local business districts across Central Michigan
Midland, Michigan was founded in 1837 by General James K. Polk and his wife Anna Maria as the town of Midland on the east side of the Great Lakes. The first post office was established in Midland in 1838. In 1847, Midland became a county seat and was renamed Battle Creek. In 1863, Battle Creek became a city and it remains that today.
